    Jeez - that's a bit of selective, out-of-context recall isn't it...

And you say that from 27 they're pretty much gone. So that leaves only 4 years of good football...??

Now you are just resorting to pedantry.

No like with Brisbane - like with other premiership winners - I believe that you need to plan for a long time to build a team.

Means spending a long time planning - not just trying to grab 'name' players.

          Absolutely selective.

I selected the players who most people were most vocal about giving the flick.

I think the context is players who people unfairly and simplistically caned for being average players, when the issue all along (which some people highlighted) was a lack of confidence, perhaps playing in unhelpful roles etc etc.

Which doesn't make listing Goodes, O'Loughlin and Mathews out-of-context at all.

BTW Reggi, I've re-read it a few times, but can't work out whether you were saying I supported Jude or was part of the throng.

          Please clarify.

I think everyone needs a drink. FFS we just won four in a row

Come on, my shout at the bar

177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out....

IIRC Steve you said something like "Bolton supporters will be disappointed. I thought you were part of the large throng of evil doers.

That Des has now dis - associated with.

Other than that I think you're right many jumped on the pillory and trade band wagon - I think people need to be a bit circumspect on this - it does enormous damage to the club.

Although I would have released Nicks in a heartbeat and still would

It was selective because you were implying that people were suggesting to get rid of all of those players and how would we be going without all of them now (and no mention of replacements). I think simply taking that approach is fairly disingenuous.

To keep this debate simple if people don't harp on it now then it's harder to have the arguement later.

I think supporter sentiment does impact on how clubs go about looking at players and lists.

Bolts in particular was savaged as "running around like a headless chook' skilless etc etc when all he really was was down on confidence and fitness.

Steve makes a very good point imagine we had traded some of those guys.

                    Well!!!

Bolton's kicking has improved amazingly! Kirk has stepped up. Hall, though not at his BBB best chased and tackled like a professional. If the umps hadn't swallowed the whistle in the 3rd term he would have got a free kick or two.

LRT - glad to see Hall passed it to him just before 1/2 time! Nice goal!

The team seems to have come together and be supporting each other really well.

A well earned slap on the arse for everyone!

Firstly, NMW, there is no doubt some people here have called for all of those players to be given the flick at one point or another. I never meant in the one post, but early last year it was Goodes, late last year O'Loughlin, Bolton the whole time probably etc etc.

                      Secondly, falsely accused Reggi!

I should leave it for the preliminary hearing, thankfully the bozos at Rivals have still left the old site up there (no MB archive unfortunately):

                      Check out the last sentence!

I agree that they all have their heads called for, what I meant was that I don't think many (any?) had called to get rid of all of them, so that we traded away 4+ players in one go. Your original post appeared to suggest how would we be if none of those players were with us now - I'm not sure if that was ever actually contemplated (except perhaps in moments of extreme emotion! )

At the AM, they said he was awake (he was walking around during the game) but that he probably didn't know what day it was. He did look groggy and the trainers were working on what looked like a wound on his head during the game. But he didn't go back to the rooms and get showered, so I took it that he wasn't TOO bad (not real good, but not too bad).

I'm as guilty as anyone reminding Johhny Roberts (bagging Kirk)
                                and Plugger 46 (bagging Crouch).

My only targets have been McPherson and Warfe (lately)

Rowan did some some of his old form today but will be under pressure continually from new blood like Powell ( what a great mark in defence)

                                Lets focus on the positives

Great Debut by LRT - big strong and mobile

Good to see Sunny again - he did some nice things

                                Stevens was good early on

Nicks (and I like him) will really have to earn his recall
                                September 24th, 2005 5.14pm
What a great moment in all of our lives
