    No.

      Well that clears it up

Surely you dont expect rational, even handed commentary when it comes to the subject of players wanting to leave a club.

You got that one wrong. Cut the man some slack.

He went back to his girlfriend. Now thinkies, which girlfriend was it that he went back to. Was it the jockey, no don't think she was around then.

No wonder Collingwood fans feel conned.

As Confucious said, Jockey who go out with footballer get hot tip.

Not exactly - he agreed to a one year contract beyond his original one, unlike Rocca who a) refused to move up here until mid-1995 and missed the first half of the season and b) returned to Melbourne after his inital contract of two years was up. As much as he may have wanted to head home, at least he remained part of the team that took him to his first grand final for another year.

Yet again, we see the effects of young footballers - out on the grog - reacting to whatever internal frustrations they're having spilling over into the predictable violent behaviour. Ditto the Colin Sylvia incident also reported these past few days.

We can joke about it all we like. But as someone who works closely in this area (managing aspects of liquor harm minimisation) - I see the abuse often enough to know that there is often a lot more going on at a deeper level than meets the eye.

Don't get me wrong - I like a grog or two (Dunc!), but bingeing & consequent loss of control is another thing altogether. Hence the club's (all of them) low tolerance to lack of discipline and the message that it sends to the team, supporters, sponsors and the wider community.

An unfortunate but necessary tool in enforcing compliance, is the public shaming that Grant & Sylvia would be feeling right now.
Good men do good deeds. Evil men do evil deeds. But it takes religion for a good man to do evil deeds.

                      Damn right Boot.
And let's get rid of the idea that being pi$$ed is an excuse for boorishness.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

How would Shannon Grant improve our side?
Well done Craig Bolton for getting the co- captaincy in 2008.

Your determination, your tenacity and your under-rated skill is why you have become my favourite player!

All we want are players who want to play for the Swans. We have that now, and look where we got last year?
As soon as it becomes clear a player has lost heart, we should trade them ASAP.

The only problem with that is that you may then have young players holding the club to ransom, either way though the club is then in a vulnerable position.
