    How good was that!?!

How well did the guys play in the second half. A real team effort. Fairly dour struggle in the first half with lots of mistakes by both sides, but I'd love to know what Roos said/did at half time!!

Great game by Kirk - really shut down J Johnson.
Very good game by Davis and Hall.
    Another good game by Goodes.
Top effort by Barry on Lucas and Schauble on Lloyd.

But more importantly, there were no absolute standouts - it was a team effort and that's what we like to see!!

Good to finally see Big Bazza get a handful of goals.
I reckon Jason Ball had a ripper.
Davis has one of the best kicks in AFL.
Using hypothesis testing via confidence intervals:
Nick Davis mark inside 50 = goal

A.Goodes another 3 Brownlow votes. His 2 goals in the last quarter were the sealer for the votes. Boy was he knackered at the end.

Great effort tonight. We are proving many people wrong and myself included. Next week we have the Dogs so lets hope the boys don't let up and hopefully we can go into the brake with a 8 and 4 record and Final's spot more or less wraped up.

Davis, Hall, Ball, Kirk, Cressa, Tiger, and Goodes all played very good matches
            Once was, now elsewhere

So exciting to watch. So many of our players firing, Crouch & Kirk with their tagging roles, O'Loughlin, Barry Hall & Goodes in the forward line. I was worried when Ball went off the ground in the 2nd quarter, but he game back & we took control again. Also O'Keefe had a great game, Schauble.......everyone played really well! I haven't felt this excited for quite a few years! We have just so many performers in our team at the moemnt. Biggest pat on the back goes to Paul Roos, who I thought was a great player & he's turning into a great coach. Well done Swans!!!

Got to say Leo's game was very good again tonight. Happy to eat my words if keeps playing the way he is. Thought last week was his best ever game. Went one better tonight.

Interestingly tonight I thought the older brigade did the damage.
Williams, Ball etc. and strewth even Warfe got a bit more of the footy even though his couple of clangers in the first half were of the highest quality.

Jude deserved what he got for that awful back pass. I am glad Roos doesn't 100% stick to the idea of forgiving players for mistakes. Had to drag him and give him less game time for the rest of the game.

Rooseys use of his bench with the less fit players was magical.

                  Tremendous.
There's plenty of candidates , once again , for TLM votes ,
                  though Bazza was surely B.o.G.
Even a blunder from Nicksy led to a goal for us!
                  That's when I knew we'd win.

Bally returning to his 2001 form - had a fine game.

And Leo's mark - didn't see the face or the number at the time but I just knew it was him going into orbit.

The one single negative - Craig Bolton looks much better running with the ball at half back rather than trying to stop a key forward.
(OK he did it on Richo but once in a while is not enough)
I feel he is a good player but he should not be asked to play on a gun forward so often - Lucas flogged him in the 2nd quarter.

Paul Williams was the only Swans player to have more than 20 touches (21). Now that's an even performance!

That incident was a bit of a shame because I thought Jude was excellent in the first quarter.

The stats paint an interesting - and for me, surprising - picture. Very few Swans seem to have got significant possessions, whereas several Bombers had over 20. I know our boys won the game with some awesomely accurate kicking at goal and generally excellent use of the ball all around the ground but still surprised at the relativities of the teams' possession counts. Also, I thought O'Keefe had a pretty good game yet he seems only to have had 3 possessions.

The thing that impressed me the most about tonight's performance was the whole team's hardness at the ball. Essendon tried to play a pretty rugged brand of footy but our boys stood up to them and then gave them some. There were numerous occasions where we looked like we'd turned over the ball and the Bombers were going to clear, only for a Swans player to recover, lay a tackle and at least force a bounce up. The defensive work on the fringes of our forward 50 was particularly impressive.

And I can't remember watching a team - any team - kick 21.7 before. It was even more impressive given how strong the wind was for much of the match.

What really staggers me is how much of an influence Jason Ball has on our team. Just about every time he is off the other team seem to take control, yet when he is on, we are back.
Really we have to be one of the quickest teams in the AFL.
The usual suspects came to fore tonight again but it was a pretty even performance.
15 players have played every game this year and the team has a great understanding and confidence in one another and it is really showing.
Magic and Cressa will be better for the run and hopefully saddo will be back in the next fortnight, with doyle and fixter right behind him.
Its a great time to be a swans supporter!

I just knew that Eade was ****ing with our team spirit , with his pedantic game plan. The boys were on tender hooks.
It's so beautiful to see the turn around. I think Roos is a genius.

It's an interesting one because we don't have actual speedsters in our squad, but what we do have is the courage to attack from our defensive 50, take the unexpected chances and BOOM we're taking a shot at goal! Some of our moves last night were remarkable, to be kicking at goal when seconds ago we were kicking in from a behind.

As for our accuracy, that is weird, under Rocket we were shocking at times, really inaccurate and games were lost as a result. I can't work that one out but Leigh Matthews was compelled to write an aricle about it so has to be something everyone want to bottle.

kicking for goal is all psychological. I can't neccessarily explain our extrodinary accuracey, but it does not surpise me that we were far worse @ shooting for goal under rocket, because he basically terrorized them.
