So why bring up Mathews in the first place????? You Warfe lovers all seem to think Mathews should be the one to go not dear old Warfe.

This Warfe stuff is rubbish. The man must go and now preferrably.

How do you Warfe supporters see your monitors when you type this tripe? Clearly you are BLIND and not watching Rowan Warfe because if you were, you would see the mongo that runs around in red and white making errors consistently!

Both Mathews and Warfe are extremely soft and should be dropped. The make heaps of mistakes and lack skill.

How can people bag out Warfe yet stand up for Mathews. The biggest joke is that people actually think Mathews goes hard at the ball.

Agree 100%, also I note that on the weekend he had 9 possesions, with 4 clangers.

His possession count was low as he only had half a game!

Warfe is hardly much to write home about - 10 possessions and 5 clangers!

It's a little unfair, I think, to judge Bolton against these two. He'd probably be the first to admit he's not really a FB. My comments were more based on the fact that as a player being played out of position he was probably damned either way. He may be about the same height as Cornes but he's listed as 10kg lighter. That's a fair amount of weight to give away to your opponent. Remember also that Cornes has become a very good forward and the delivery to him was decent for most of the second half.

I'm not suggesting that Bolton's performance on him was good - or even that it was adequate for the team, just that its not entirely fair to blame it on Bolton himself. We need a FB, fair and square, and then we might get to see whether Bolton can cut it as a third or fourth defender or even a taller midfielder.
But Cornes is not THE key target, Tredrea is. Bolton is there to take the 2nd, 3rd or 4th forward, which he did. He has played this role well thus far but had a bad day, allowing Cornes to get too far away from him.

So the only point i made was that he gave Cornes far too much latitude. The fact that he is lighter than Cornes should work in his favour re pace off the mark, which let him down.

As I mentioned - happy with his efforts this year but did not perform on Saturday.

I think Bolton is there to take the 3rd forward, like a flanker type. Cornes was just too big for Bolton. I'd like to see someone solid take on Cornes and flatten him as I reckon he's a mongrel!

You must be joking "gutless" attack on the ball all he did was bend over to pick the thing up and Richo cleaned him up. I am not saying these to players play in the same position all i am saying is one has no heart and one has a massive heart. Ask yourself the question who would you prefer?

3 years ago we wanted rid of Leo Barry and now he is one of our most consistant.

last year we wanted rid of ?? and ?? - Roosy has shown that he want the player to put in 110% and has player trust - i'm letting him keep on doing what he is doing.

Warfy (Mr silky skills) needs to not get the brain explosions and do more with the ball. His delivery needs to improve.

If Mathews is out we may need to keep him in the side

Bolton did very well on Cornes initially when he contested body-on-body in marking contests etc so that was not a problem. It was only when he gave him too much of a start as the game went on that he struggled as he was not even close to the contest.

Maybe it's a case of Bolton being in Brissy for so long, playing in the reserves in QLD, and not used to wet weather football real style.
I don't know. I've never played AFL level football, and I've never played football in QLD. So I'm no expert. Just trying to give excuses.
