Damn it to hell... this is the most devastated I've been after a loss since about 1999. Sometimes, football is just too cruel.
How the hell do a team DO THAT MUCH TO WIN, and then come up short???
Swans, you did everything you had to do. EVERYTHING. Sometimes luck can be against you.
What the hell am I gonna say in my match report? We hate Anthony Rocca
We hate Shannon Grant too
We hate scumbag Gaspar
But Leo WE LOVE YOU!Comment

Okay. Now my thoughts are a little more organised.... The lapse late in the first quarter really cost us in the end. Dermie sang the praises of Lewie, and I'd have to agree with him - he really should have played more of the match!!! Would have freed up goodes. I think our defence did a fair job considering the talent they were up against.
Disappointing loss, but in the end I think it proves that we can match anyone, anywhere. I had this marked down as a loss pre-season, and I'm proud as hell we took it right up to them. Gutsy effort - in previous years we would have been blown away.
Fire up, swans. Back up and hurt hawthorn next week.
177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out....

The good thing about having a coach like Roos is he will ensure that nothing but positives will be spoken about this game. The guy will have the boys jumping out of their skins to play the hawks.Originally posted by midaro
That will either make or break our season.Comment

I know we lost but that was one of the best games they've played this year. Third quarter was magnificent, particularly given this is the quarter we normally go to sleep in. In the end the first quarter was obviously telling but although we were clearly the second best team out there during that phase I didn't think they were too bad.
LRT was fantastic and that should give us great heart. Not only did he provide a contest at the bounces but his second and third efforts were superb.
The efforts and composure of some of the younger players - esp both Boltons, Schneider and Tiger - was great to see too. And even O'Keefe, with little overall impact on the game, did his bit with that great goal near the end.
Until today I wasn't really sure how good a team we were. Now I know for sure.Comment

I'd like to know what they're putting in the water at the SCG. Last week Cressa, this week Leo. Our boys are pretty tough.
At least Port have kept Collingwood from top spot .Here's my heart and you can break it
