And what's even better that none of the top sides was able to boost their percentage.

Heartbreaking stuff for the Swans to have got so close. Poor Goodesy.
I was going to the local footy today, and my car broke down on the way. So was confined to listening to that game on the radio while waiting for the NRMA and then the tow truck, and that was frustrating enough. So all in all, today's been a bit of a bugger.

Now we've just got to hope Eddiewood lose a few.

IMO, i think it will do 2 things, (as stated before) that they can push any side, anywhere, to the line, and also it will put sime fire under em to really go hard for the win, i expected a 6 goal loss, i was very impressed by the endeavour of the boys

can we have negative votes in the tlm for goodes this week? i was very disappointed that he went for goal, he shoulda looked to pass it off, goodesy has never been a good shot for goal from a set shot, but what can u do, he had a crack

            LRT and SCHNEIDER!!!

how good was schneider's goal? and the commentators barely got above a whisper!

IMO Saddo has had a dog of a year - both form aswell as injury.

I know we really have to play him back because of our deficiency there, but did we really miss him when he was injured?

Time to move him to a wing to find some form IMO, we'll just have to make do down back.

I was expecting about a 3 goal loss coming into today, and midway thru the 2nd qtr was thinking UH OH, but full credit to the boys, we turned it around, gave it a real shake and almost caused a big upset. We have proved beyond all doubt now that we are genuine contenders.

I'm hoping that Hawthorn will be flat next week after their close loss which really spells the end of their season, and with Hay looking like he'll be out, and hopefully some other talls out for them as well, I'm expecting a strong showing from us. I just hope we don't suffer a letdown.

                  I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

Des will tell you all i was sort of squeaking and squawking for a bit and hiding behind a pillow before i got up and walked out of their loungeroom when goodesy took that mark. I still have nightmares about last season and this didn't help!

But they played hard and tough, and it was really only that 5-10mins in the first quarter that the crows kicked away that killed us. As much as i'd love to scream "we wuz robbed" I can't really bring myself to do it seeing as it was really US that put us away so early. But again, it's a learning thing and i think it will help them no end in the long term. Stand tall though boys - we ALL know you can match it with the best and this will have put some of the top 8 sides on more notice!

The good thing about having a coach like Roos is he will ensure that nothing but positives will be spoken about this game.
Interesting enough it looks as if he felt the heat a bit today

Asked whether he saw the Carey mark and subsequent goal late in the final quarter, Roos said: "Did everyone else, was it over the line? Where's the goal umpire from, does anyone know?

"It is just disappointing, really disappointing. I can't really comment on it, so you blokes write it ? no point me going on about it."

A little uncharacteristic from Roosy, justified or not.
In games like these you just have to put things like this down to bad luck and move on asap. Easy to say though.....

I don't think so. IMO they'll use it to spur them for the game against the Hawks. Roosy is very smart and understands that close defeats can create havoc on players mind (remember 2002?) therefore he's priority is make sure that that doesn't happend again. IMO his reaction was VERY appropriate, because he used the umps as scapegoats for the loss.
Do you need any better motivation for the next game?
