I have never rated this guy anyway as many people that know me know. I could be wrong, but I wouldn't be TOO upset to see him go.

Perhaps he could be part of a deal to get Jacobs or Soloman etc

i would hope this is not true as it would make our decision to take the local boy ahead of salopek look very stupuid

i don't believe he can be traded within 2 years of being drafted, and in any case he is under contract until the end of 2004 so he won't be going anywhere

        Straight swap for Mark

btw, wasnt the main reason we chose him was he is a quality boy from here who is already home??

Maybe it's a ploy to get Sydney to show some interest in Mark??

All 10 news said was he was with the Bombers on their end of season trip. They made no mention of him asking to be traded.

I did think it very strange that he would join his brother on Essendon's end of season trip.

We shall know soon if there is anything in it.

It was on Ch10 news in Melbourne just before. Jarred McVeigh went on the bombers end of season footy trip. I don't want to see him go.

It's the annoying thing about trade week - ridiculous speculation

You don't ban those who supported your opponent, you make them wallow in their loserdom by covering your victory! You sit them in the front row. You give them a hat! Toby Ziegler

I think that McVeigh is vastly over rated and will really struggle to play senior football. At the moment he is far too small and would be knocked around badly at AFL level. I know some people think that he is a future champion but I beg to differ. Salopek would have been a far better pick or even the tall Staker who is now with the Eagles . I do not think that he can go anywhere for next season but if he did I do not see him as a great loss.

Incidentally ,this is the first time that I have commented negatively about a Swans player on this site.

Well, there better be a bloody good deal.

A year ago, he was worth a top 5 pick. Nothing has happened in the past twelve months to depreciate his value, in fact, he should have gone up in value because he's no longer recovering from a knee reco, and has had a year of training put into him.

On this basis, I would expect Essendon's first round draft pick PLUS a player like Danny Jacobs. Otherwise, Jarrad can fulfill his contract.

                            WOAH!

You are the first person to agree with me on this website about McVeigh. I said before he was drafted not to draft him highly, and didn't think he was anything special. Perhaps I am right?

I never had a doubt that Salopek was the better choice.

Future will tell the story, but I dont think he will be any more than a run of the mill player... if he makes it ...
