i would hope this is not true as it would make our decision to take the local boy ahead of salopek look very stupuid
i don't believe he can be traded within 2 years of being drafted, and in any case he is under contract until the end of 2004 so he won't be going anywhere
btw, wasnt the main reason we chose him was he is a quality boy from here who is already home??
- Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in a world they've been given, than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact, it's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration, it's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing!

I think that McVeigh is vastly over rated and will really struggle to play senior football. At the moment he is far too small and would be knocked around badly at AFL level. I know some people think that he is a future champion but I beg to differ. Salopek would have been a far better pick or even the tall Staker who is now with the Eagles . I do not think that he can go anywhere for next season but if he did I do not see him as a great loss.
Incidentally ,this is the first time that I have commented negatively about a Swans player on this site.

A year ago, he was worth a top 5 pick. Nothing has happened in the past twelve months to depreciate his value, in fact, he should have gone up in value because he's no longer recovering from a knee reco, and has had a year of training put into him.
On this basis, I would expect Essendon's first round draft pick PLUS a player like Danny Jacobs. Otherwise, Jarrad can fulfill his contract.
We hate Anthony Rocca
We hate Shannon Grant too
We hate scumbag Gaspar

WOAH!
You are the first person to agree with me on this website about McVeigh. I said before he was drafted not to draft him highly, and didn't think he was anything special. Perhaps I am right?
I never had a doubt that Salopek was the better choice.
Future will tell the story, but I dont think he will be any more than a run of the mill player... if he makes it ...
