what a whole lot of crap talking about McVeigh leaving.

All this talk about who we SHOULD have drafted instead of him is ridiculous. Just because these guys played in their first year means nothing. The swans took this guy knowing that he wouldn't play this year, so he obviously has a bit of talent. It's not always about the quick fix.

The only reason I could think of for drafting another person instead of J.McVeigh last year would be to get some other good young guy, and hope that Jarrad wanted to come home in a few years anyway, but that's a pretty risky way of looking at it, and what's to say that the guy we drafted wasn't thinking the same?

The Swans had no 'official' end of season trip planned.

Just a word on young Solapek, word from SA is that he is really struggling with persistent shoulders injuries. It has also been mentioned that he is dead keen to return to Melbourne next year when his contract is up as well, something that he indicated all along before he was drafted to Port Adeleiade.

As for McVeigh, talk of him being slight and not up to it is all bull@@@@. He was judged in the top 5 becuase of his ball skills, runnung capacity and pace. He will be used as a winger or a free running midfilelder when he gets to play this year and you don't need to be built like a sherman tank to play that position.

The one question that may remain over his head is his desire to play AFL football and to do the hard training required to play at the top level. No indication at that this stage he is showing any of those signs.

Good athletes with ordinary skills got us to the PM in an "evolving" year.

Let us not forget that Fossie keeps on pleasing the people who matter, and was a part of a team who were written off, who ended up making it to a PF .

Now lets hope McVeigh can end up doing the same .

Why are we even talking about this there is no evidence that Jarred wants to go to Essendon anyway.

Trade week has rumours about everything lets just wait till friday to comment.

This rumour clearly had some credibility.

                        S&Don rated a 22 YO M McVeigh so highly.

They gave him a one year contract - can see there ultimatum before the 2005 season.
