    Very funny indeed.

    Thankfully looks Geelong bound

Here we have a Richmond ruckman who averages a sterling 3 hit outs per game - will prove incredibly useful!!
I'm just as amused by the trading of Street to the Dogs. They seem to be valuing him around the number 20 or so draft pick, given that that's what will be added to the trade instead of Hall if Hall doesn't agree to Geelong. This is a player who's been on the Geelong list for several years, was touted (by Geelong fans) as a probable delistee halfway through the season before he finally played a couple of OK games for them. And Geelong are hardly well off for depth of ruckmen so you'd have to wonder why they'd be prepared to trade him if he was any good. Not sure I'd be ecstatic with pick 6 and Street for Brown if I were a Dogs fan.

how many times did we seem one tall "short" this year? many occasion i would suggest, hall could be used as a gap filler, and free up more important players (for instance, leaving barry on the HBF rather than having to play KP) i think hall could be very useful in our side...

The thing is people would have laughed at this 6 weeks ago - and this is the problem with trade week. Clubs try to off-load duds and other clubs get caught up in "theory" that the guy would be valuable.

What you say is fine If he could play - which he can't - so it's all academic really - all we would have is another James Meiklejohn.

Players don't grow ability after you trade for em.

Class or Pass - if you don't get something good or proven - move on.

Richmond wouldn't be so keen to get rid of him if he was any good - same with M Bolton - same with Jacobs etc.

If there was a late minute pick up it would probably be Scotland - at least he may be 'handy' as midfield depth but even there I really wouldn't be too bothered

The Swans have a decent record of recent times in trading away players with potential who were injury prone

          Jason Mooney

          Ryan Fitzgerald

          Brett O'Farrell

No doubt we held onto Seymour and Warfe for too long, but that is easy to say in hindsight.

          Same with Wade Chapman

I hope Ben Fixter does not turn out to be another injury "croc"

well IMO, he can play, serviceably... we are short of tall stocks, he would fill a hole...

would also reunite him with his old teammates in c. bolton and davis, we will add hayes to that next year

To say he's a dud and can't play is rubbish, particularly when you consider he's only 22 and easily has the potential to develop into a decent footballer.

There is no point in even encouraging him.

Most people with any football nous realise that Hall is a decent footballer that would be a more than handy pick up.

Reggi - Jacobs is no dud. Comments like this really have me questioning your credibility.

Didn't he just have the one injury after breaking into the side....just turned out to be a long one!

Fixter also had injury problems in 2001 as well.

The same goes for Doyle as well regarding injuries - when do we cut our losses

fingers crossed for 2004 and beyond for these 2 (and all players)

unfortunately Ben's long term injuries have not all been the one related injury. it's been different injuries each time.

The Herald sun reported Richmond rate him so highly they will de-list him and he'll go into the draft.

Yep, what Richmond think would affect my judgement...

If that is the case then that is fantastic news.

Welcome aboard Ray Hall, just need to de-program the spastic Richmond way of out of him.

But in all seriousness, if we do get him in the pre season draft then we have managed to get ourselves a very handy spare parts player that can be used in a number of different roles including down back and as a back up ruckman.

Reggi, I would also suggest that Ray himself would like to be de listed now as you would think he would be slightly peeved with them being halked around.

I doubt he'd still be available when we get to pick unless he puts some ridiculous price on his head.

Given their current penchant for duds you'd reckon Carlton are the only risk
