    Ray Hall

Would we be seriously chasing him, being a NSW boy. This quote is from the SMH:

Ray Hall, who was for several days the maligned offering in Richmond's bids to clinch deals for Dean Solomon and Nathan Brown, is being courted by Geelong and Sydney. Should he make his way to Geelong, the Cats are likely to agree to release Cameron Mooney to St Kilda for a third-round draft pick.

could be a useful back up ruckman and tall option, he's not a star by any stretch of the imagination but a useful enough player

he'd be worth a 3rd round pick although i'd suspect the tiges will want our 2nd round pick

I feel I should remind you that you are talking about Ray Hall - not a footballer.

We should leave getting dud ruckman from Richmond to Collingwood.

What makes you think he's a dud? He's pretty good, actually. Given the poisonous "versatile tall" tag (kicked 4 against Sydney once, for example) as well as being a much better ruckman than, say, McKee (who was a #3 pick).

Just turned 23, gives it a go, from NSW, 196 cm 92 kg. Has the size and tenacity to be groomed as a genuine fullback rather than a "tall defender." Won't get that opportunity with that poser Gasper at the Tigers. Can ruck at the back. Why wouldn't we take him for a 3rd round pick?

Is it just me or didn't anyone else see his duel with Doyley last year? From memory both talls kicked 3 or 4 each in a great contest.

I rate him and would love to have a solid (not his build) back-up ruckman that has the minerals to go forward and kick goals.

I rate him as well and think he would be a great pick up (at the right price). A third round draft pick and either Seymour or Nicks should be worth it.

I'd be happy with that. Ray Hall is still fairly young, and you never know, he could turn out into something great in a different team/environment.

So we'll have two Hall's in the team...?

I'd be happy to have Hall in the team. Has lots of natural talent - just needs a coach to get him to focus.

Not a bad deal at all for a third rounder.

If we can off load Seymour, Warfe and Nicks for another third rounder and say a Beaumont from Carlton we come out with:

*Ray Hall as a back up ruckman/forward

                    * Beaumont as a third tall and to cover for Bolton, Saddington and Schuable if needed. Which also could allow Saddington to move onto a wing or short bursts as a mobile tall ruck rover.

Plus we have our first two picks intact and an earlier third rounder from Carlton to continue with our youth policy.

Hall as a tall utility could provide ok backup and might just show some great improvement under the Roo'sy influence. But no early draft pick swap! He has been used all round the ground and granted not looked too flash with Richmond but then again ....who has?

I'm with you Reggi. Ray Hall is a "dumb" footballer. He has no idea where his opponent is, strolls around like a lost soul and is so one sided it is nausiating. Richmond supporters I know can't stand him.

Think about Richmond, they have a few top line players and fall away badly after that. Ray Hall falls into that "Richmond Nothing" group of players who are responsible for them being shouse.

If we recruit this dud we can only be serious about winning a reserves premiership.

Time and time again we recruited his types in the past for no result. No more please.

thats right. Just look at the number of finals appearances the tigers have made in the last two decades and you'll see that they have the ability to turn possibly great players into under-achieving duds.

Unfortunately Nico, I know you very well, and I very much doubt that you have watched Ray Hall that closely. Richmond supporters are dummies, they whinge more than any other supporters in the business, so why take any notice of them. I think he would be a handy player for us, if we could get him cheaply. I've seen him play some good games.

You can never have too many big blokes, as they are more injury prone than any other type of player. ie: Doyle, Ball and Meiklejohn were all injured at some point this year.
