If only it were as easy as dropping Dolye....we could win another premiership!
Doyle has to go......

Doyle did nothing - King did nothing.
Chambers did nothing - the game today was not decided by the ruckmen.
BUT, I reckon he needs to take a few marks to get his confidence back - put him at FF when Ball is in the ruck. He can't be getting tired or confidence on the bench.Comment

I saw possibly the worst game a footballer has played one day out a Waverley (I think)
It was Hawks vs Port and Primus was a complete joke.
Wouldn't mind having him in our side now.
Give Doyle some time.

There seems to be a pattern emerging in respect of comments about Doyle.
One week it's "Doyle showed a bit today" and the next it's "Doyle will never be a good player".
He's still very much a novice in terms of experience, and the ruck craft takes some time to learn. Stafford was absolutely terrible in his first few year - I remember him telling the story of how he received no votes at all in the club B&F count in either 1994 or 1995. Then suddenly he emerged as a really good ruckman in 1996 and was super for us until injuries got him down.
Doyle has also not been able to complete a pre-season for several years now, which must be affecting his leap and run.
I'm reasonably confident he has got what it takes so long as the injury gods start to smile on him.Comment

He is an easy target for criticism, his errors stand out a little more as he comes into play more at stoppages."Fortunately, this is the internet, so knowing nothing is no obstacle to having an opinion!." Beerman 18-07-2017Comment

It is a wonder any ruckman got a tap today. The bouncing was nothing but appalling.
I believe at one stage the ABC commentators said in as many words that umpire Schmidt was not up to AFL standard such was his ineptness in all facets of his game.Comment

If Doyle became No.1 ruck when Ball retires, I think you'd see more effective tapping, as the midfield would be geared to his style of play.
I do wish he'd just thump the cr@p out of it in the meantime.Comment

ive been critical of doyle a bit lately but i will keep my promise to reserve judgement for a bit. I think he may flourish if he was given the number 1 ruck job??Theres not much left to sayComment

Barry, you have hit the nail on the head.
I spoke at length with DrJ about this a few weeks back.
Our midfield setup is very defensive at ball-ups and centre square because Ball rarely gets clean tap-outs. Doyle gets way more clean touches but the midfield setup remains the same.
When Doyle is contesting we need to roll the dice a bit and get some numbers forward so when Doyle punches the ball forward it may go to advantage.
Doyle is vital to our future and I think he is a gun, not just at the minute. Anybody who thinks 'he must go' truly has NFI, IMO.
Please footy gods, let the man have an injury free, full pre-season.Driver of the Dan Hannebery bandwagon....all aboard. 4th April 09Comment

Interestingly though, Ball had a lot of clean tap outs today around the ground. He really struggles at the centre bounce though, as he just can't jump.Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.
