    Champions...

... don't usually have to resort to staging, Vossy.

Good half of footy! Only conceded one - the other two have been dodgy frees.

For everyone who has had a go a Luke Ablett - and I know who you are - you're wrong!

Ablett's playing very well and against a top liner in Lappin. Hopefully he doesn't run out of gas as he did against Carlton.

Best players so far, IMHO, are:
      O'Loughlin
      Kirk
      O'Keefe
      Ablett
      Ball
      Barry
      C Bolton
      Bevan
      Schauble
      Nicks

I am one, when he starts doing it on a regular basis I will gladly say I was wrong but after five years on our list a couple of good games a year isn't enough. But all said and done I do not care if I am wrong or right as long as we win

I'm a big wrap for Ablett.

Rogers as well, wish we had persisted with him.

Well I saw Rogers play in a pre season game at Vegetable Park and I saw something in him.
Just seemed to do everything right down on the back line.
But I haven't been following him in the reserves and maybe he's crap.

Ablett I see hints of him becoming a great player all the time.

You have someone like Schneider or Bevan who play a couple of games and are pretty much instantly a part of the starting 22 (rightly or wrongly) because they have shown enough.

Then there are players who take longer to develop but have potential to be stars.
                I see that in Ablett.
I know if we delist/trade him he will go on to star at another club.
The only other player I thought that about was Lecuria

                  Ablett has a beautiful kick.

I think he'll be like O'Keefe - he'll take his time but the pay-off for persevering will be worth it.

I think Noggy has excellent skills, but I worry about his decision making. Too often, he seems to hesitate and run out of time and options.

Last night, he played a good game - seemed to be playing on instinct.. I do think he is playing for his spot right now, and I hope he makes it.

177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out....

A few of our guys do that, even last night.

                        That was so pathetic!

I absolutely went off my nut at that dive.
It was good that he got dragged straight after cause it gave me a chance to vent my disgust as he ran past.

I was one of the baggers. I think I saw enough to say that we should persevere. I saw the one thing I hadn't seen so far in him, and that is initiative.

Always knew he was a beautiful kick, not much different to ROK, but doubted his decision making and ability to get clear as well. Great to see him start adjusting to the tempo, especially as a midfielder. Happy to eat my word but he needs to become consistent before he has made it in the manner of ROK, who for mine, is now part of the backbone of the team.
We have them where we want them, everything is going according to plan!

Ablett? He had 5 for the game and from what I recall they were very good ones too.
