Saddington is a handy option around the ground, as I've said before, although does it make sense to have a player in the side who is not quite as good as other players at securing a specific spot in the side, but is in there to fill gaps. I think this option is useful, but I'd rather it came from a player who could hold down a specific spot. For example - Leppitsch - holds down CHB, but can play CHF. Bradshaw - is a flexible option, but can comfortably hold down a key forward or defensive role on a permanent basis.

Oh well - we'll see whether he stays.

Buchanan is meant to be 180cm which seems too tall, but I'd guess he'd be about 175cm.
As for rude, I think throwing comments in like 'stupid call' and 'ridiculous comment' is unnecessarily rude in a discussion.
I'm not so right. I haven't said you're wrong - I just disagree with some of your point. I'm simply having a view.
I am 180cm and he was at least 15-20cm shorter than me. Buchanan was driving Kenny Williams home on the night and they were roughly the same height.
I sincerely hope that Buchanan does stay on the Swans list for many years to come, but unfortunately the only role I can see Buchanan filling is in a negating role, whereby unfortunately for Buchanan we already have Kirky, Crouch and Matthews - although Matthews is trade bait potential.Well somebody told me, You had a boyfriend, Who looks like a girlfriend,That I had in February of last year, It's not confidential, I've got potential

I 'll disagree with you Cressakel about Buchanan's role in the team.To me he looks quite creative in the midfield when he was played there. He is pretty tough too so I think an in and under player with a slick handpass is his go.Injuries have prevented him from showing his worth.Although he and Schneider look the same I think Schneider is not as tough and would prefer the ball being given to him than putting his head amongst it.Schneider when fit(hamstring and aerobically) looks like he could be a really penetrating midfielder with a burst of speed to create space and a decent kick.Comment

I've put on my spray jacket in anticipation of the tirade of abuse I'll receive, but I can't wait for the day that people realise just how much Mathews is worth to us. Trade bait indeed! Here's my heart and you can break it

Suggesting he only has a future as a negator is, perhaps, the most ignorant comment made on this board in the last few weeks.

After finally seeing the game, (Thx Bam_Bam), I thought they played high pressure one on one footy. The Lions were shell shocked. Even Voss had his hands on his hips looking tired.
My thoughts,
Buchanon, set the tone for the game with his first five minutes of effort. Altho' he went in and out of the game. Needs to improve his disposal speed and awareness around him, he got run down a few times.
Bevan, what can't he do!!! Tackles hard, kicks goals, defends well, good mark, as tuff as they come for his size.
Schauble is the most unathletic looking player I've seen for a while, but he was pretty effective on Lynch and had the strength to match the Lynch Monster.
Barry, is just getting better and better, his run and ability to read the play is critical to the back line.
Kennelly, hard done by with a few FA, is playing as good as I've seen him. He ran around a few Lions and made them look second rate.
Mathews, has become a real ball magnet and is playing some godd solid footy at the moment.
Ablett, I almost laughed when he looked up and saw no one standing the mark and banged thru a 50+m Goal, an extremely bad mistake by the Lions. I'm sure Lethal let them know that.
Mol, someone mentioned his pick up and handball off to ROK, in the 3rd term, not many players good do that at speed. he also out muscled Bradshaw which I was surprised about. He is one of the most accurate kicks in the team now as well.
ROK , disappointing Misses he should have snagged at least one of those early shots, but he showed he can still kick a goal, and didn't let the early misses effect him.
Hall struggling against many, but still able to stamp his mark in the F50.
Boltons both put in 110%,
Ball is in fantatic form, I just wich he could kick like he used to.
Doyle is on the improve, I thought he held his own against Keating.
Maxfield is a shadow of his former self, but he was still in their giving his all, and that running goal from outside 50 was a reminder of what he used to do regularly.
James, is a dissappointment, started the year off in stunning style, and now struggling when he does come on.
They are the main players I can think of at this hour.
Bring on the Roos, and hopefully a fully fit ND!!!!!!!!!Comment

Ignorant, how many games has Buchanan played and your basing your view as our "number one palyer at getting the ball cleanly out of packs". Buchanan looks like he has a future but to base your opinion on what he has achieved at AFL level so far maybe a little Ignorant."I'll acknowledge there are more talented teams in the competition but I won't acknowledge that there is a better team in the competition" Paul Roos March 2005Comment

I didn't say that Buchanan is a negator at the moment, as he clearly plays a forward line role. In effect, I said that Buchanan's future is limited due to his height, lack of goal sense and limited skills therefore, I only see a role for him as a negator.
Buchanan is very much like Peter Filandia - small, limited skills, plenty of endeavour but just not good enough for AFL level.
Comparing Sam Mitchell to Amon Buchanan is the most ignorant statement I have heard on this site/board. Mitchell is the number one go-to player from clearances and generates all the play for the Hawthorn runners, whereas Buchanan has never come close to a similar role that Mitchell plays.
Also, doesn't Kirky and Jude Bolton get the ball cleanly out of packs - particularly Kirky !!??Well somebody told me, You had a boyfriend, Who looks like a girlfriend,That I had in February of last year, It's not confidential, I've got potential

Until Benny stops giving the ball to the opposition with monotonous regularity he is not worth much to us, no matter what you say or how tough he is. When he coughs it up we tend to lose....and he does it every second match or so. We have enough grunty midfielders, we need at least one with silky skills and one of the workhorses is gonna have to go.

some good South Australian judges rate Josh Willoughby and Tim
Schmidt outstanding prospects with a big preseason from both
our midfield prayers may be answered. I've seen Josh twice this
year in Wagga and he has something special reminds me of a young Darren Jarman give him time. As for Benny he is a goer
for us each week remember the saying a champion team will
always beat a team of champions Matthews may not be a star
but he does a job.

Although, I believe he is better suited to the Back Pocket than an on-ball/negating role.Well somebody told me, You had a boyfriend, Who looks like a girlfriend,That I had in February of last year, It's not confidential, I've got potential

best spot in fairness to him even Maxfield turns the ball over at times and he is the captain.
