I have no doubt that a Swans home final would be played in Sydney, but would a home Eagles final be played in Perth?Originally posted by Mattyt

Re: Re: Swans to get home final.
it would only be logical if it was played in Perth. This scenario is more likely than what we think, as I just read in an afl.com.au article that if the Eagles beat Melbourne by six goals or more than by how much the Swans beat Richmond, they will leapfrog us into 6th place.Originally posted by midaro

So lets hope, firstly, that we win, and secondly, that Melbourne dont get flogged.
The worry for me is a wet and windy day at the MCG where our winning margin may only be a few goals, but a dry, high scoring affair at Subiaco where the Eagles run away with the match.Comment

That's fine for us - the aim is to keep Richmond's score as low as possible.Originally posted by dendol

Let's say we won 60-45 and WC won 120-70, our percentage would still be higher. It's not just about winning margin, but also about the points against, which is far more critical than points for.
What I'd like to see is us win by 4 goals or more and keep their score under 70. This will mean WC will have to win by 11 goals. The more Melbourne score the more WC have to win by.Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

Finals follow the format of:
Friday - 6 v 7
Saturday Day - 5 v 8
Saturday Night - 2 v 3
Sunday - 1 v 4
Doesn't it?
Because if you look at last year, you see Fremantle played Essendon on Friday, WCE v Adelaide on Saturday, Collingwood v Lions on Saturday night, and our fantastic win against the chokers on the Sunday.Comment

Yep - if we do what we should do and win by 50+ points then we're set for 6th!Originally posted by cruiser

The AFL takes into account many factors. One things for sure Port won't play Friday Night because of the need to have a 6 day brake, ditto if Essendon make it. Also finals in Sydney and Brisbane are played on a Saturday Night so it doesn't impact with ch 9's league coverage into those states.Once was, now elsewhereComment

No. The way it works is so that the participating clubs get a minimum 6-day break. You wouldn't want to be playing a Friday night final after playing the previous Sunday.Originally posted by Mattyt
