Sorry , back to the point, Essendon and Carlton both have a few younger talls, Sheeds once wanted Sadds too.

Would any of the Hawthorn back half brigade (no not Crawf defence I mean) Hay Graham Smith have any relevance, or has that appalling mess loosely described as a football club shattered all confidence within?

I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

Jason's T&S is a Sydney girl I believe. Would hardly be keen about leaving.

Not really - he kicked 4 goals against a Kangaroos small defender and people thought he was about to become a champion(?!?). Didn't really standout after that - was just okay. That's hardly a pinch hitter of the Lepptisch type.

All I can say is, I sure hope other club's football departments don't visit this web site to try to determine Saddo's real player value. He wouldn't be worth a can of sardines if they did.

Give me another player in the team who could kick 4 goals in a game this season. How many pinch hitters of the Lepptisch type around in the league?

I sometimes could not understand the rationale going around here. Our team is short of talents and fairs and full of average hardworking workers yet we still want to trade anyway talent for foot soldiers. It is really ironical that while we are pressing the club to recruit more talented players, we are yet still advocating trading our own talents. The club is in no win situation to please us at all.

He did it once - and he's only ever done it once.

He might be talented, but he has not stood out as a great player nor effectively utilised his talent. He's reasonable but nothing we could without.

Other players in our side who could kick 4 goals, particularly against a weak defence: Hall, O'Loughlin, Davis, O'Keefe, Davis, Williams, Schneider.

There are not many players of the Leppitsch type, who can be usefully thrown into forward or back positions, although there are a few (Koschitzke, Solomon, Pavlich, C Cornes). Saddington does not fulfill this sort of role with great distinction. He's a role player who does okay, but nothing great.

Saddington was a tall but slight winger who by necessity was transformed into a key defender which wasn't his forte.I really don't think he adds much to the team other than a mismatch in the forward line now and then.
I wouldn't mind seem him traded in some deal that could nab us a quality midfielder.
Our forward line is pretty good we just need to get it down there more often.
