Everitt is definitely a long shot, but it doesn't appear Ottens is.
Who will be delisted and traded?

I think Adelaide will go after Ottens pretty hard if he became available.Comment

Cameron Bruce ~ Oh yeah!
Mark McVeigh ~ it's not as if were not overloaded with his type is it? Perhaps if he comes at the cost of a fifth round pick.
Tim Notting is a 6ft forward (ala Davis) alternately he's a physically hard at it but not quick midfielder (like most of our runners) doesn't seem to fill a need.
Troy Simmonds ~ Please no, if we want a ruckman then there are always plenty of ruckman with a year or three left in the tank available at draft time that cost much less (This year talk centres on Clark, Stafford, and Keating).
And if we want a key position player lets chase one of them rather than turning Simmonds into some sort of project.Comment

Jason Ball was some sort of project. He was a key forward mostly for the weagles. When we traded for him everyone was sceptical whether or not he would be able to play as number 1 ruckman.Originally posted by Ruckman

Tend to agree - handy, but not outstanding. Probably a bit more useful in the midfield than our types (mathews, Crouch), but only to a small extent.Originally posted by Ruckman

Disagree - Notting is quick and agile, and has a booming kick. Doesn't get much opportunity to do it at Brisbane, but some of his bursts through the centre and then kicking a goal from outside 50 have been outstanding.Tim Notting is a 6ft forward (ala Davis) alternately he's a physically hard at it but not quick midfielder (like most of our runners) doesn't seem to fill a need.
Simmonds is more useful than these as he can double as a key position forward and can get the ball around the ground. I suspect he also the mobility and skill to play as a key position back. We have a tap ruckman in Doyle - I'd like a ruckman with more versatility, which is what Ball is, although he has at most one year left.Troy Simmonds ~ Please no, if we want a ruckman then there are always plenty of ruckman with a year or three left in the tank available at draft time that cost much less (This year talk centres on Clark, Stafford, and Keating).Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

He was definitely recruited as a key forward to replace Plugger and only moved into the ruck when Stafford was playing crap (or injured?)Originally posted by sharpie

Agree with this as Notting has potential to grow, is super quick, is fit, tall and athletic.....exactly what the midfield needs.Notting is quick and agile, and has a booming kick. What was he driving at the time?
Fit
Erm, so is everyone other than Nick Davis.
Tall
He's the same height as Matthew Nicks.
Athletic
Yes he plays in the AFL.
As to what the midfield needs, I agree with Roos we need a grass burner not another tough nut.Comment
