    I HATE trade week.

    Imagine waking up and reading your name in the paper saying you were going to be traded. That would have to be one of the worst feelings.

    WTF is with trading Doyle? I thought we were short on ruckmen? Just when the bloke is coming good...

      IMHO what was mentioned in the article is a bit over the top (especially regarding a possible trade with the Dogs), but it does provide proof to what Roosy has said about being active and virtually nobody being untradeable.

      I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

      If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

        Surely we wouldn't have mentioned in the Newspaper who we are and aren't trading?

        Probably just the paper making up crap. None of those are actual quotes.

        Pick 31 + Powell for Jolly would be alright.

        The high draft pick we'd be giving way too much away for it.

        I very very much doubt Davis would be traded.

          Oh .. and surely trading Doyle would be pure stupidity?

          We have Ball who has one year left, and Erikkson along with Doyle.

          We pick up say Ottens. Suddenly we only have Ottens and Erikkson.

          That isn't very smart.

            Quote from another article:

            "Gilbee has told the Dogs he wants to be traded with his former coach Terry Wallace at Richmond showing interest along with Sydney, which has declared it is after experienced players rather than young draftees for next year."

                If Eade was going to take Swans players for Pick 6, I would imagine it would be players he was already very comfortable with.

                I think with Nick already leaving Melbourne to go home, his publicised motivation problems and the fact that Rocket has never coached him would mean that Nick probably wouldn't even be in his calculations.

                Mind you, the Dogs could do with Nick's accuracy.

                  How about trading someone like Matthew Nicks?
                  Now before I get shot down, his form this year has been good. But there is no saying he can sustain it.

                  He is getting a bit older, and his form this year could push up his trade value a bit.

                  A few clubs could do with a utility like Nicks, whilst we probably have a few players that can play his role.

                  Thoughts..?

                    Nicks is to old to get any trade value out of him...........who is going to pick up a player who has 2 years left in them and has a dodgy back

                      Saddo makes alot more sense if other clubs are looking for "utility" type players. Hes still youngish, and like many players, may flourish and find his potential with a different coach and club environment. Saddo is also a ruckman, remember!

                        Saddo is also a player who flourished under Eade and I suspect Rodney would be pretty happy to get him. Agewise he'd be good for them because he bridges the gap between their top quality but older brigade (Darcy, West, Smith etc) and their numerous good but physically slight youngsters.

                          I am very surprised to hear Davis' name mentioned as trade bait.

                          Saddington and Fosdike I think will almost definately be traded along with Mark Powell.

                          I would be surprised to see Doyle go, he is starting to show wome promise.

                          For what it's worth....

                          My trades:
                          * Saddington, Powell + Pick 31 to Bulldogs = Pick 6
                          * Fosdike + Pick 15 to Adelaide = Pick 8

                          * Pick 6 and 8 to Richmond = Ottens

                          Who knows what will happen!!

                            Wasn't it Kevin Sheedy that rated Mark Powell before we drafted him? Although the rule, never trade with Essendon ....

                            So ...
                            Saddington, Powell, Pick 31, Pick 15 and Fosdike for Ottens.

                            Is it really worth that to us?

                              I think it is!! We have enough running type players (Leo, Tadgh etc.) to cover Sadds and (Ablett, McVeigh, etc.) to cover Fosdike.

                              As for Powell, he has had a few runs in the seniors with no influence, therefore tradeable!

                              What great talent are we LIKELY to get with pick 31?

                              We need Ottens as a ruckman goal square player for many years ahead so yes I think fair trades.

                                No way! 6' 7" with unfulfilled potential at 24....too much to give in scenario above.
