I wouldn't be too worried, guys.

Roosy and Ireland aren't stupid, and they're certainly not stupid enough to deal in the manner suggested by the article.
    We hate Anthony Rocca
    We hate Shannon Grant too
    We hate scumbag Gaspar
    But Leo WE LOVE YOU!

Roos is too astute to be done over too badly during trade week (isn't he?). Expect the unexpected surely is the message that comes from most trade periods. That said, I think it would be too unexpected to see N Davis go. I doubt if he would go anyway...

As rocket used to say one good one is worth 3 average players.

Ottens had a huge 2001, like Barry Hall, he gives the impression of being a player who would thrive in a new environment.

I will pay Nick Davis's airfare if he is willing to fly Jetstar

The Bulldogs have rejected the deal. Reggi would be pleased to know that Davis is on the market (reliable source), but you doubt that any club will be interested. Also rumour doing the circles that he may not front up in 2005 anyway (source not as reliable as my usual) The reason why Western B. probably rejected it is as much to do with salary cap space given that they have already got the two early picks from last year and pick three if they give up #6.

If this is true we are offering way over the top not only to gain pick 6 and pick 8, but also way too much for Ottens

Would be extremely disappointed if any of this eventuated.

I'm hoping that this is just garbage made up by the Herald Sun journos who have shown in the past that they are not the most reliable sources of information

I think there would be at least some substance to most of the stuff in print.

Whether clubs seriously consider it or not is another issue.

I think Roos has said Richmond are overly optimistic about what they can get for Ottens.

I just hope Roosy has enough common sense to make his own judgements.

Regardless of 'talent' I cannot see the point in hanging onto players that are not hungry for success (reads Nick Davis).

At the risk of teh treat of legal action, I would like to quote and comment on some of that....

Hawthorn skipper Shane Crawford appears likely to remain at Glenferrie, with Swans recruiting manager Rick Barham indicating that the 1999 Brownlow Medallist hadn't been discussed by Sydney at this stage of the exchange period.
                    That means nothing at all.
If Ottens and Johnstone and other touted Swans pick ups fall through, watch that change very quickly.

Barham also believes Geelong is still the frontrunner for the services of Tigers' ruckman/forward Brad Ottens.
Tonight some Richmond person said that Kangaroos have presented the best package for Ottens, and then Ottens came out and said "no f'n way he would go to the Kangas"
Also, Geelong seem not to want to part with anyone in their top 15 untouchables list. Which is fair enough, but most likely will help our cause.

He also said there was plenty of interest in Swans' duo Jason Saddington and Nic Fosdike, but he was adamant the pair was not on the move.
                    We shall see.

"They're (Geelong) trying to trade with the Kangaroos, but at this stage the Kangaroos were the most emphatic. Collingwood were very silent on the matter."
                    That's because Collingwouldn't are idiots.
I love trade time for 2 reasons...

                    1. It's fun
                    2. Because the wobbles are so bad at trading.
The difference between insanity and genius is measured only in success.

Lindsay Gilbee is just plain no good. He has struggled to keep a spot in a very bottom side and really struggles at the top level. But then again with him in the 2's we could snag a flag for Canberra.

Bigfooty website has rumour that Swans will try their 3 player trade to the Crows for pick 8 or Collingwood for pick 7.

It's getting very dizzy but when you hear 5 players to be traded for Ottens who doesn't want to come to the Swans then talk of getting Gilbee here.

There only thing I can see so far is aggressive off load of players.
In memory of my little Staffy - Dicey, 17.06.2005 to 1.12.2011- I'll miss you mate.

To be honest i'd rather just see us trade our 2nd rounder and Powell for Jolly than throw half our senior side away to get Ottens

Let's hope all of this is either shabby journalism or Roos and Ireland playing some mind games in trade week

That article mentions Steven Armstrong . . . that's the first time I've seen any indication that he might be available for trade?

He's a seriously talented player who's temporarily lost his focus. He's definitely worth pursuing if the opportunity arises . . . he'd slot nicely into our midfield setup.

If the price was right, Jolly and Armstrong from the Dees would be a nice compensation if we can't get Ottens.

Agreed. More interested in our flat denial at the moment to trade Fosdike or Saddo, despite "lots of interest from other clubs".

I reckon more politicking goes on during Trade Week than any election on the planet
