    Our Best 5 players (Past)

Just having a think about some of the great players we have had.

In my time (92+) and IMO they would have to be:

    1. Lockett
    2. Kelly
    3. O'Loughlin
    4. Cresswell
    5. Dunkley

Obviously before my time, there are players such as Skilton, Pratt, Nash, Bedford, Healy, Williams, Clegg, Teasdale, Papley and so on.

Wondering what some of the older members of the board think?

"Lockett is the best of all time" - Robert Harvey, Darrel Baldock, Nathan Burke, Kevin Bartlett, Bob Skilton

Roos would have to be in the mix too, for recent generation players. There are not too many players who are clearly BOG in their 300th game.

Didn't watch many North games in the 90's and early 2000's I presume......

R.Harvey isn't W.Carey's bootlaces, in fact there are NO players who are even close to WanCarey. The bloke was the best player in the last 20 years, regardless of people's opinion's on his off field actions, deeds and misdemeanours....
Well somebody told me, You had a boyfriend, Who looks like a girlfriend,That I had in February of last year, It's not confidential, I've got potential

He's definitely one of the best, but not clearly the best by a mile, as you suggest.

            THE BEST.

My opinion - backed up by playing the hardest position on the ground, consistently BOG in very good teams whereby he regularly kicked 3-4 a game, beaten by no oponent except G.Jakovich on the odd occasion, having 2-3 defenders hanging off him EVERY game.

Opinions are like armpits - everybody has two and they stink....

I think you'll find, one A. Dunkley, kept him quiet on a regular basis.

Well, he did have a bad week, was physically ill before the game and copped a kick in the head from his opponent, but yes it wasn't one he would like to remember.

Averaging 3 goals, 15-17 possessions and 7-8 marks against Dunkley is a bad day for Carey (not for other CHF's though) when judged on his career stats and classic Carey games, but I'm sure Dunks wouldn't have been in the team week in week out if Carey was on him every week, as 60-66 goals against a season as a Full-Back is a poor effort.

Dunks may have beaten Carey on the odd occasion, but Bradman did make a few ducks in Test Cricket as well - proving that even Carey and Bradman are human after all....

I don't think Carey's human weaknesses were ever in question ("Why don't you get a bigger set of tits?").

Are you planning to continue to use that one weekly, or are you feverishly plotting to find some other tired old cliche that you can trot out...
