Clarke was definitely the one wearing no 46. I didn't spot Taylor playing but he, Aaron Rogers and Ryan Quade were all listed in the programme as top-up players.

They also lsited both Rowan Warfe and Jarred Moore as wearing no. 33. 46 was definitely Clarke, and I think 45 was Shaw, since he was rucking.

Yup. Didn't get much game time but looks athletic for his height.

He also tended to shy away from getting into any situation that may force him to kick. One of my mates pointed out that he seemed to try to avoid getting the ball. Definitely didn't look as confident as Clarke.

Time for some (not-so) pretty piccies: (about 60-80kb per picture)

Dempster in the foreground, Buchanan in the background

The new look LRT enquires about the umpire's last eye checkup

                  Kirk v Alvey

Somebody standing the mark, not sure who it is...possibly Tadhg?

Luke Vogels shows off his excellent posture

Vogels wonders where the ball has gone

                  Spriggs with the ball

Heath Grundy with Spriggs in the background

First warm up of the season! 48 is Andrew Hayes and 43 is Stefan Garrubba. LRT shows off his new hairstyle far left

                    That's Campbell.

Love the Vogels ones! But Kirk v Dyson bears a striking resemblance to LRT and the umpire.

Bah, I knew I wouldn't get it all right first go. The link has been fixed. I'm trying to figure out who is opposing Jobe Watson (#4). Any guesses?

I meant in the Kirk v Dyson picture whose link I just fixed, and its actually Kirk v Alvey. On the right there's a Swan locking arms with Watson, I can't tell who he is. Kinda looks like Luke Ablett but I'm sure he didn't play.

Sorry, just realised that's what you meant when I actually opened the Kirk picture. And then deleted my post that you just responded to when I realised I was being slow.

My best guess would be Heath James. Headwise it only vaguely looks like him but the stance is right, and it is likely that he would have been playing on Watson at some time during the game. Also, the first number on the back of his guernsey is a 1, so that fits too.

Good guess, I do recall James playing on Watson in the 2nd half. Geez you're doing well considering the quality of those pictures. I think its time to get a new camera.

Nah - pictures look mighty fine to me!

And even with lowish resolution, the shape of the body and the way they hold themselves doesn't get blurred. That's how I tend to recognise players in the heat of battle anyway, when you can't see their number or head.

I reckon I could recognise most of the list just from seeing a photo from the waist downward (fully clothed and rear view only)

It WAS good to have a good win. And even better to see no players injured on what was a billiard table-like NSO surface.

But man, was it DULLLL. There were a few nice goals (that O'Keefe in the tree pocket was true Beckham stuff), but overall it was very very dull. Jolly looks like a more agile version of Ricky Mott (with far better skills). Whilst to my naked eye my best was Jarrod McVeigh, who always was poised in not only his foot-skills but his decision making.

They gave the crowd as 9000. I seriously doubt that. As a year-long NSO devotee, I'd say there were at least 12000 in attendance. A weird mix too. Heaps of business types and people in their best Von Dutch and Diesel Friday night duds. Lots of non footy types by the look of things. Was awesome seeing the stream of red and white coming out of the train at NorfSidnee station though.

I'm scared to say that many will not come back to footy after watching the fare on display tonight. But maybe that is me be a tad sensitive after what was not even a trial but an exhibition game of 15 a side.

What are your thoughts, all of you who went?

I have to ask, is there really any purpose to this fixture each year? Would it not be better to maybe play a match on a full-sized field at say Henson Park with 18 a side than play what really doesn't constitution to a real game of footy.

PS:- I hurt my knuckle later in the night by handballing a full 1.5 litre Diet Coke. Kids, do not attempt this stuff, as it hurts like hell!
