Well thats par for the course these days, there is never enough violence in footy these days,
sorry i stand corrected- there was just enough violence for me in this years Grand final. If every game was like that I would be a happy camper.

The player standing next to Bevan is Garruba.

The player standing talking with Spriggs is Willoughby, and I'm pretty sure it's Fixter standing just behind Spriggs.

The obscured one behind Fixter may be Maxfield - hard to tell but there is something about the way that he has his hand on his hip and elbow extended behind that makes me think this.

Behind Spriggs and Willoughby (but between them on the picture) could well be Sundqvist.

The one between James and Kennelly as we look at is I think is Matthew Davis.

The player talking with Vogels I'm guessing to be Grundy.

The two short players standing in front of Vogels and Grundy having a chat are, I think, Schneider and Buchanan, though I'm more confident of Buchanan (with his back to us) than Schneider.

Of the taller players, I think it is Doyle with his head bowed in the group with O'Loughlin, Ablett and James. Jolly I think is the one with his back to us, talking to someone blonde near Bevan, and maybe it's Ball standing next to him?

The group at the end are a bit hard to work out but I think they may be Clarke at the back, Shaw in the middle and Hayes closest to the camera.

Via a process of elimination, the one with his back to us talking to ROK could be Malceski - right height and hair colour.

OK Liz! Now for a real test...

Who is the really short one holding the footy?

Not Nicks - the one with the red footy?

Yes, I realise this was meant as a bit of a wind-up but it got me thinking...

...and I now reckon the middle figure of the group of three to the far right of the picture is actually Roosey himself. Which might make the short one holding the footy one of his sons!

I thought the guy five to the right of Kennelly was Doyle. Who's that, then?

Nick's hair is longer than that.

It's not Roosy - wrong shoes....I think your first guess was right - Shaw. I also think Roosy's kids are a bit bigger than that.

My suggestion would be Ball - by a process of elimination. Not sure it is him but it looks more like Ball than it does Doyle, IMO.

You will all be so proud of me....
I took a total of 24 pictures - 22 of which were of Schneider!!! hehehe and because I promised pictures of other players I took 2 of Buchanan cause he's my second favourite player! hehehehe...

Good game though. I thought Powell played well and I was also impressed with McVeigh too. Didnt see Willoughby playing - any reason?
Good start to the season, fitness looked pretty good - but man have some of the players grown their hair!! In desperate need of a hair cut, most of them!!!
And the man who started it, the Schneiderman, can kick his third for the quarter. And the swans are in the Grand Final!

With 22 photos of Schneider, don't bother...

No, only bother if Ryan is upon those photos.

I've cracked the code to identifying the players!

They are standing in two rows, one behind the other, in number order, give or take a bit given that they've broken their lines.

The front row is Schauble down to Ball, in order, with Williams missing and Maxfield either missing or standing back a bit (the one with the elbow extending behind could be him or Schmidt).

That means that Eirinn and others were right about Shaw being in the group with O'Loughlin and Doyle being further down the line.

                            Hayes is standing behind Saddo.

It is Fosdike with his back to us, talking to Schneider.

The player with his back to us talking to Mathews and O'Keefe is McVeigh.

The two obscured heads between Campbell and Kirk are Moore and Buchanan.

                            Powell is talking to Baz.

And the group at the end is Dempster (closest to us), Ball in the middle and logically the other must be Crouch, though it's hard to tell.

To answer JS, that probably makes the small one with the ball, a Ball!

If you paste the photo into Word and blow it up (say to 500%) the resolution is still fantastic and you can actually tell who is who!

Woah, well done! That is mighty impressive.

Something should have twigged for Schauble, Jude, Nicks, Saddo and Leo all standing in a row (#25 - #21)

Now the next task is to identify the security guard on the left and the group walking in the background

Looks like liz has cracked the code!!!

So that gives us (from left to right):

Schauble, Jude, Nicks, (man behind Nicks is not a player), Saddington, Hayes (back), Barry (front), Ablett (front), I'm guessing Potter (obscured by Ablett), O'Loughlin, Shaw (tall guy hunched over), Clarke (obscured by Shaw), James, M. Davis, Kennelly, Garrubba, Bevan, Malceski (obscured by Jolly), Jolly (facing back), Ericksen (hat with sunnies visible over Jolly's head), Doyle, (the person behind Doyle is not a player), Grundy, Schneider (obscured by Fosdike), Fosdike (facing Schneider), Vogels, Goodes, (the person behind Goodes is also not a player), Fixter, someone completely obscured by Fixter - either Maxfield or Williams, Williams would be my guess, with Maxfield off somewhere performing captainly duties - quite possibly they are both in there somewhere, Schmidt (at back, behind Fixter), Spriggs, Sundqvist, Willoughby, Campbell, C. Bolton, Moore (obscured by C-Bolt), Mathews, O'Keefe, Buchanen (obscured by O'Keefe), McVeigh, Kirk, N. Davis, LRT, Powell (obscured by Hall), Hall, Crouch, Ball, (one of Bally's kids?), Dempster.
