A lack of them wasn't what cost us this afternoon. It was ordinary kicking at goal for three quarters, horrid midfield turnovers in the second, and a very disappointing flatness in the last.
Also needed to take more risks earlier in the match. The Roos were playing even less direct, constructive football than we were but the Swans didn't take advantage.
Well I just walked in from Manuka. It was woeful. Liz is pretty much spot on. I don't know why they took sedatives at 3/4? Very ordinary. I watched the Reserves too (16.16 to 6.7 over Ainslie). There are 4 or 5 in the 2's who looked very good today and were hard at it non-stop.

Who were the players who caught your eye?
Fosdike is a class above in that league. Vogels knows how to find space and how to kick a goal. Jarred Moore can play. He reads the game as well as any and seems to be able to find the ball already on the move. He just seems to know where it is going to end up and gets there at the same time. I really liked the look of Tim Scmidt too. Hard at it and clean hands. Dempster was another good one (and hard to miss as his mum and dad (or aunt/uncle, good friends etc) were sitiing right behind me). Sadly, Spriggs did not look at all out of place. Heath James got bandaged up at one stage and limped off at the end (not a hamstring, more like a knee) but did do the warm down with the team. Heath Grundy's nickname is definitely Reg too
Edit: I meant to say that Heath J looked much better up forward than he did down back. That might have had to do with the fact that the ball was down that end a lot more but he marked strongly down there 3 or 4 times in the final qtr. And Powell was good. Looked like he was putting in a big effort. H ewent hard at it for the first 3 qtrs (I don't really remember seeing him too much in the 4th) and marked well.

Roos basically said that we turned the ball over too much, either skill errors or poor decision making, and our forwards didn't present very well.
Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

Hall took 10 marks - pity he didnt kick straight - same with Davis.
