I don't eat animals since discovering this ability. I used to. But one day the lamb I was eating came through to me and ever since then I haven't been able to eat meat.

Well, my suggestion that within Libba's heart lies the spirit of Leigh Matthews may have been a clue. But I'm just kicking myself for not thinking of the Chopper Read similarities.
I think we have the players, coach and draw to go a long way this year. This will go to waste if the players (or game plan, if that is what it was) waste opportunities as they did yesterday. I asked Paul Roos what he'll do on Monday to reverse the collective brain spasm they had yesterday. He said that they are professional sportsmen and they'll work it out themselves. He said they will go through the game tapes and point out errors - as they do every week, win or lose - but much of the correction lies with the players. My thought is watching the tape will be punishment enough - I know I can't face watching it (and my only error was believing we still had a chance at 3/4 time).
Did anyone take a look in the room when the team were supposed to be warming down. Never seen such a downcast lot.
Nearly all of them covered with ice packs - most two or three ice packs. Each guy never made eye contact with another. No one speaking. Roos looking very unhappy.
Felt like holding a sign up saying we all feel lousy too - very disappointed with the effort.
Damn roos hated them winning - but ran all over us.
Would never like a libba type or Matthews near the team. Matthews was the biggest thug player out from what I have been told.
Next week will be interesting with Brisbane losing today and us so badly yesterday.
i just hope to see a passionate performance, if we do lose i want it to be because brisbane played their bloody hearts out and had to beat us, not that we just gave in and played poorly!
Originally posted by cruiser That's silly talk after just one loss. Sure, it was a woeful perfprmance but they happen to all teams. Lets watch a few more games before we start calling for the coaches head.
It's not one game - Roos has had the Swans playing "the most boring" style of football for some time now.
That is bad for buisiness. Sydney are all about buisiness, so:

Willo is essential to our midfield and this has got to change. When he goes off the field we seem to lose all drive and confidence. The guy is everywhere, but will not last forever. Wh do you see as our best options to groom JF?

When we look at the above players, it is highly arguable to say that the cattle Roos has at his disposal is not all that flash. Hence we have to resort to a game based about ball ups and boundary throw ins.
Without Paul Williams, we do NOT have anyone who can move the ball through the centre square to the forward line. Playing Craig Bolton there might be an idea worth trying, as his skills are generaly pretty good.
Here's hoping i am wrong. I don;t think I will be though. But I know my team's odd quirks and moods. Watch out for us to beat the Lions on Saturday, as stupid as it sounds havig just slagged out our onball brigade.

Well why doesn't Roos give some of our young guys a go? Moore, Schmidt, Willoughby are all young midfielders that deserve a go. It seems the Swans have some sort of policy where you dont get a senior game until you have close to two years in the ACT league. Just about every other club gives their young players a chance at an earlier stage than Sydney.
We don't ahve amidfield coach do we? Surely we can't because no professional midfield could be that bad at the most important part of the entire game...WINNING THE ****ING FOOTY!!!!!
It's not possible to gain possession from stoppages only 19 times in a game is it?

I think you can write Willoughby off for a while. I believe it was him I saw on crutches and with a knee heavily bandaged, getting into a car after the Roos match. Heath was also with him, noticeably limping.

I think I countred 3 times that we won the hit out, gained possession and kept handballing in thick congestion trying to find a miracle. I had this gripe last year too. Why do we need to handball a third and forth time instead of giving our forwards a chance by throwing it on the boot faster?

I agree. We get enough taps (not that that really matters), and our midfielders get their fair share of first touches, but then invaribly take a tackle, or handball into a scrum, thereby negating our
"win" of the footy.
Its madness. Kick the f-ing thing. At least it will go to a 50/50 40m forward.
