Is that how it's meant to work?

            Do these score look familiar?

            Kan 84
            Syd 59.

That was the score line, last time the Roos beat us at Manuka.

            5.1 7.3 11.6 12.12 84
            3.2 4.4 5.9 8.11 59

            We were more accurate then.

So 8 goals and 7 goals in good conditions on a big ground... says a lot about our game plan.

Yeah, but none of this is unique to the Swans!

The AFL works really hard to create an even competition, and the fans and the media (and the sponsors) demand instant success from the coaches and players.

Won't this inevitably create a plethora of tight, low-scoring games with everyone playing percentages and refusing to take risks?

It wasn't tactics or strategy that let us down on Saturday. In fact, if we'd converted the shots on goal we did have as well as convert our numerous chances through the midfield that we murdered, then we'd have blown them off the park, by 3 Qtr time we'd have been up by 50 odd points.
