Good one DST, I think Leppa, Johnson, Michael and Scott. are going to be a huge problem for our forwards.

And with Power playing extremely well, Voss shining again, they have a bit of class in and around the ball.

Forward line does not look as intimidating without Lynch and Brown, but still enough in there too make our backmen earn there keep.

I'd be expecting a tight physical contest, and if they lose, I hope they go down fighting to the death.

In 2003 our per game goal tally ranged from 22 (once) down to 8 (three times).

I know that you know enough about statistics to conclude that it is impossible to determine a trend from two games' scores.

We played some absolutely terrible games in 2003 too (eg at Manuka).

Don't be surprised to see Saddo line up this week at full forward, as we are going to need to drag Leppa away from Mal Micheal and make him accountable. Otherwise it's going to be a hard day at the office for Bazza with one at his side and the other 10 meters in front.

I think the Kangaroos game really underlined your point well . . . having another mobile tall leading out would have made it much harder for the Roos to intercept the delivery into the f50.

If MOL and Saddo are still unavailable, I wonder what the other options might be? Hasn't James been playing as a marking forward in the reserves? Or maybe Goodes into full forward and Dempster into the defence?

Or just tell O'Keefe to stay down there more and get someone else to push up to wing/CHF...Kennelly anyone?!

Vogels seems to have been the pick of the marking forwards in the reserves thus far.

            Vogels . . . yeah I'd forgotten about him.

It would be a bold move to promote him at this stage, but against the Bulldogs he certainly looked like he wouldn't be lost in the big time.

I like O'Keefe to go further up the field personally, seems to play a true CHF position more than Bazza and provides a capable link between the midfield/half back lines to Bazza who is most dangerous 15 to 35 meters from goal due to his ability to keep his feet at the contest, gather and shoot at goal.

I really think the key to beating Brisbane is to separate Mal Michael & Leppa and make Johnson accountable. With out the third ruckman, Roos is going to have to play another tall marking forward to drag Leppa back to the goal square.

I guess that comes down to Saddington, James and someone like Vogels. Roos said Saddo would be in contention for a spot by round 5 or 6 and he has been playing so I think he will called upon first to play as that marking full forward.

One question, who was listed as out desinated rookie ? Was it Vogels or someone else?

A more flexible forward line combined with a bit more flair from the half back line which includes Kennelly & Leo getting a bit of leeway to run with the ball, means that we can still play a lock down game in the midfield and kick a winning score.

i agree with the point on kennelly and leo, for us to win they both need to be in our best youd think. We need some drive off half back.

I would like to see mal michael dragged down the ground and leppa kept in the defensive goal square area. as i agree , they need to be kept separate.

The main key is shutting down the lions midfield!

If we had 1 less handball possession everytime we came through the midfield we would have to have been the highest for numbers inside 50. The times we stuff on the last pozzy in the midfield is staggering.

My disgustingly un-original change would be to drop Maxfield, move Kennelly to the wing, and give Sean Dempster a chance at HBF.

                          I don't think they've nominated anyone yet.

Regarding Johnson, wasn't it O'Keefe who had the job last time of taking him out of the play.

If that's the plan for this game it might make it imperative to have another forward marking option .
