I think that is a key point. At one point in the midfield, J Bolton had the ball and was completely clear. Instead of looking to attack the F50, he did a couple of pirrouettes trying to find a team mate to handball to. Fortunately the Adelaide players were very confused over what he was doing and rushed past rather than tackling him, clogging up the F50, and allowing him to find someone to handball to.

It was a strange thing, and happened a few times, however it was symptomatic of our problems.

In addition, I note we had just 63 kicks in the second half. You need to be managing 80-100 per half at least. Only two players managed more than 5 kicks in the second half - Kirk with 6 and O'Keefe with 7.

That was truly Scott Direen-esque! It was even better than Jason "God's gift to football" Saddington's effort against the Eagles in Perth last year. Down by 3 points and running free on the HBF the Great man sends it STRAIGHT OVER THE BOUNDARY LINE ON THE FULL! True football genius if I ever saw it!

We have such LEGENDS in this team, I swear!

Can speculate all day long as to what they're told but what is crazy is the overuse at centre bounces when that is the time to slam it on the boot. Handballing 4 times in a 10 metre radius with 6 opponents on your hammer is madness.

If they are told to keep possession at this point then they are getting overcoached.

Exactly. It is easy to see that when in possession after a centre bounce and surrounded by opponents, slamming it on the boot for CHF of HFF is BY FAR the best thing to do. Both teams did it on Sunday but them way more than us.

Even if a centre clearance is not lace out to a lead it still makes me wince and groan when the opposition get it going forward. I am quite happy when they handballing it around under pressure...I break my toe when they finally nmanage to kick the bloody thing. Hence that's what I want us to do in that pressure situation...kick as soon as you can to a contest up the field in OUR DIRECTION if you do not have a really juicy option nearby.

Simple really. Really juicy option means a plyer on the move and in space.

And its not like we dont have players who can take a contested mark.

We all know Hall can. Davis, Goodes, O'Loughlin and even ROK can in the forward line. Jolly has shown he can take one on the wing, so why not pump it long to him from the kickout?
