    Anyone for Roosie's head yet?

    Well....?
"Davis...Davis has kicked 2...he snaps from 40...dont tell me, dont tell me, hes kicked a goal....unbelievable stuff from Nick Davis, can you believe this, he's kicked 3 final quarter goals and Swans are within 3 points..."

I don't think so. I am sure he was out coached today in some areas, but surely now he must be privately saying that he just doesn't have the cattle to go to the next level.

My only thought on his coaching and/or use of players is predicability. Rotations are rotations but players appear to be stereotyped into positions. There is no fear of being dropped at Sydney, at least from where we sit. They should be playing for their position every week.

When Barassi was a super coach at North he had players who could play anywhere and was prepared to be adventurous, as was Sheedy and versatility was his forte until he stayed too long with the Hird/Lloyd obsession.

IMHO to early in the season to be after Roos, however come mid season and the consistancy isn't there, then questions need to be asked

I think the players' skills are the reason we lost today. Many appalling turnovers and kicks that went out of bounds on the full, and some shots at goal that should not have missed.

A few players to be dropped for next weeks game, but I doubt that will happen since we have already lost two senior players in Ball and Williams.

I wouldn't even contemplate dumping Roos yet, but he needs to do something drastic with them. Still, there is a decent chance we can turn things around and just make finals, which will keep him in the position for a bit longer.

I dont think its time for his head..lyons needs to go but I doubt Roos has the balls to do it, he wants to be everyones mate including the players.

I agree some of them dont seemed concerned about being dropped but making too many changes would completely unsettle the team.

Maybe its Roos style that needs to adjust to the reality the Swans find themselves in.

            Cheers

When in doubt, err on the side of the future. The injuries to Ball and Williams should not be the excuse to spare some underperforming senior players. If this happens, Roos has lost it.

Did anyone recall his plan for challenging the flags. I certainly dont know where we are w.r.t that roadmap. Hope it has not been abandoned yet.

You can't blame the coach for poor skills and decision making. That said, he is responsible for the overall direction the team takes, but I wouldn't be calling for his head any time soon. But seeing as he is responsible for the overall direction of the team, I'd like to see him give things a bit of a shake up around the club and make some of the middle of the road players realise that they need to perform, or have some early starts on a Sunday morning at the SCG.

abandoned...one would hope not, but after 70-odd bleedin' years you'd hope that some good fortune would happen to this club, wouldn't you? Even opposition supporters couldn't begrudge that...

Whatever the outcome. The situation is not ideal.
Roos either just scrapes into the finals and saves the call on his head, of they fall and the team faces the fact that it needs some knew ideas and some sort of rebuild, or they climb up the ladder and basicaly stagnate from where they were in the last 2 years.
I can't see them making and/or wining the grand final.
Every situation is a lose, unless they blood a bunch of kids and really find some talent. But isn't that what Roosy has been saying that he has been trying to do for the last 3 years?
It's not really working. There has been no verifiable out and out star unearthed in Rooses time. God knows we need them.

You err on the "side of the future" when you think you need to rebuild. Roos clearly doesnt think this is the case (nor do I). McVeigh will most likely come in for Williams (Fosdike is injured), and perhaps LRT will be back next week. Dropping any more players will likely unsettle the team even more against a Melbourne side hell bent on getting back on the winners list.

All of a sudden our depth isn't so deep will 3 injuries coming out of this weekend.

Try Bevan, Schneider , Dempster, LRT, Buchanan (was delisted though) James M (delisted). Has given Ablett and O'Keefe a go, but no real stars unearthed yet and 7 new boys in 2.5 years is not a lot of new blood.

Forgot McVeigh. Then he doesn't get much ground time. About time you started showing them how to play footy Roosey. Or was that promise a non core promise.

Nico, you reckon Roosie is in line for a position in little Johnny Howard's cabinet?
