This is what concerns me. Can we go to the next level under Roos ?
    NO

Roos really doesnt have the attitude to make hard decisions and it shows in our players who are undisciplined, I reckon this is a direct result of Roos coaching style.

Nick Davis could be a great player but it still makes my blood boil in the last quater against Hawthorn when he stuffed up that goal due to his arrogance, what really dissapointed me was no runner out to Davis to tell him to pull his head in.

Now this may be a litte thing but its these little things that make a difference in attitude, Footy is a mind game and the mind set of the Swans seems to be doesnt matter if I stuff up nothings going to happen.

Now Eade would give players a rockett wwhen they deserved it but Roos was critical of this style and he must of studied YR2000 HR manuals on coaching and counselling players to work within a team.

I really believe the Swans right now need a hard disciplined coach from outside of the club who isnt mates with everyone to take the next step. Im not advocating sacking Roos now he will probably get us into the 8 every year he coaches, but I dont believe his coaching style is hard enough to win a premiership. Wait until the end of the year.

Please keep this post to throw in my face when the Swans win 10 in a row and go on to win the GF, Cheer Cheer

      Sack Roos?
      No
Give him a smack around the ears for hiring Ross Lyon?
      Definitely!

2003 was a great year, with Malaxos as midfield coach, and Roos' edict giving payers their heads and encouraging them to play attacking football.

Since then our football is getting less adventurous.

The midfielders seem now to be playing without confidence.

I can think of no other reason for what I'm seeing. Midfielders are looking to dispose of the ball ASAP.

I can't think of ny other reason why so many handballs especially, are going to players that aren't calling for it, or standing flatfooted or in an inferior position surrounded by apponents!

Whether it's the players not listening or whatever Ross Lyon's the midfield coach. It's his problem.
Whether he's over coaching them, making things too complicated or has BO I don't know but the midfield group is going backwards from where it was under Malaxos.

True. But you have to give credit to Adelaide's set up at the kick ins. They used a perfect zone where one of their players could mark two of ours. With the Swans unwilling to kick to contests the sideways chip kick was their only option.
If Kennelly is to kick in I think he should kick it to himself and run on every occasion with a player shepherding for him.He could hit Hall on the 50 on most occasions with Hall in a one on one contest.

I think Roos was outcoached but the skill errors made him look like a mug.
Buchanan should be banned from ever kicking again and Bevan should be banned from ever handballing again.

Definately not time to sack Roos.

My one big criticism is I wonder whether he is hard enough on them...taking them off after a stupid error or mind explosion, hard enough with them on the training track and hard enough on them when they play crap football.

Sometimes Roosey just seems "too nice" to be a successful coach.

Being positive is great but sometimes players need a good roasting (honest appraisal).

Its the list that needs to be looked at and that dud Lyon. Why oh why did the club allow him...he was a proven dud at another club.

And Blight would sack 3/4 of the list if he were to be given the coaching duties. He would clean out a lot of dead wood, which won't be liked by a few around here but at least he will have the balls to do it.

Give Roos until the end of the year or else its Sayanara and take your mate lyons with you.

              This is bordering on pathetic.

It's 2 steps forward one step back with the Sydney Swans.

Sitting at the game yesterday and surveying the field that he had setup I was actually starting to "get" his gameplan.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

One Word. Predictability. Teams have figured that we go short and wide with the first kick (Leo Barry) and then long to the side for a tall. One thing Adelaide did was let us have the first short kick but already blocked both sides of the F50 to make us kick long to a 50-50. It is definately not working.

Don't be such an idiot and actually read the thread. Most people aren't calling for Roos to be sacked.

                            My understanding of the situation...

Roos' Game Plan A: Run and take risks - attacking football that avoids contested possessions.

This works for a season or so until your are worked out, or when you are playing a crap, tired or injured team. Rarely works against switched-on teams or in finals football.

Roos' game plan B: When you can't do A, hold and chip 11 times up the boundary line to maintain possession.

Again, very easily workesd out and ball is usually lost after 2-3 chips around half back and punched out of bounds for a 50-50.

                            Roos' game plan C: ??

NOT Roos' game plan: Kick to a contest, even if it's in the hot zone in front of the goalsquare, where even a spillage gives the crummers every opportunity to kick goals.

This is an important part of footy that has worked for many years and is a must IMO if you are going to win a premiership.

Please Roos... let's kick long to the forwards and back them in!!!
"As a player he simply should not have been able to do the things he did. Leo was a 185cm, 88kg full-back and played on some of the biggest, fastest and best full-forwards of all time, and constantly beat them." Roos.
Leo Barry? you star! We'll miss ya, ''Leapin''.

But Roos says we havent got the players who can kick it long to a contest i mean..i mean..you know we havent got the cattle and all that..so we play a stupid brand of football that makes us look even more pathetic.

Stupid team group of footballers if you ask me..i mean how stupid must you be to hand ball it to your team mate who is surrounded by defenders when you have the option of kicking it long to a contest like we saw many times yesterday.

Beven is the perfect example of this and i think sometimes he thinks he is playing league when he goes full tilt trying to beat a defender.

Stupid moronic dumb players or a stupid coaching panel.
