No worries on my side of things, but I think Mrs Go Swannies might still be smarting from it a bit.
Anyways.... Yeah I think somehow the Swans need to find a way to be taken seriously by the Sydney media.
Perhapes if they started by trying to play a hard and direct and accountable brand of footy, more media types in Sydney town would get on board.

Another problem is with the AFL taking so much of the biff out of the game and encouraging the umpires wistle to such a degree, it plays right into the Sterotype that a lot of the Sydney press has in relation to Aussie Rules- Soft !!
Strange that the AFL have gone that way, just when they are trying to win the Northern States!!
The softness is one of the very things that is holding it back in Sydney I reckon.
Along with the rule changes they make every year!!! I've been fllowing footy all my life and some times you don't know what half the free kicks are for, and there are so many of them these days!!
How the ****** is a new supporter supposed to get hooked to something he/she can't follow???

If there is one thing the Swans have done pretty consistently over the past couple of years it is play hard and accountable football. Isn't the degree of accountability (at the expense of attack and flair) what many people are now complaining about?

I agree there wasn't much evidence of accountability last weekend but that is certainly not the normal criticism levelled at the Swans.

The impact of the media on the performance of a team is probably virtually impossible to quantify but...

I would like to see a hard nosed AFL living and breathing journalist reporting on the Swans NOT Tim Morrisey the ex basketballer, part-time AFL watcher and part-time Swans reporter throwing his two cents in now and then which has usually be mixed with some comments from down South.
