Both sides missing primary midfielders (Maxfield, Williams and Moloney, Bruce), but I believe this week we Dees are fielding our best available 22. Should be a great match.

I know it probably doesn't mean alot considering Dempster had this "honour" 12 times, but good to see Moore and Schmidt listed as Emergencies along with Powell. I guess that gives a little bit of an indication as to the pecking order.

        I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

Team as named is interesting. Dempster on the ground ahead of Bevan, Nicks on the wing(!) Mathews in the centre!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Doesn't Roosey read my threads???

Moore and Schmidt emergencies ahead of Malceski and Willoughby, Powell ahead of the other young talls. Mmmm.

They must think Moore and Shmidt are ready to take the next step.

have Malceski and Willoughby been playing OK in the 2's????

All means Jack Schmidt if they are merely emergencies. Dempster was emergemcy some 12 times last was he not, for nil games.

Lets hope some of these boys get a run soon. If they don't then they don't seem to have a lot of faith in our youth or depth. Interesting to note the Dogs promoted a rookie straight into the team.

Promoting Schneider on the strength of a few goals against the backyard juniors, after a string of shockers, in preference to someone of lesser experience, shows a lack of foresight to me. Lets see how many hard ball gets he racks up.

The Saints threw in a number of unknowns last year as have a number of sides this year, yet we just keep on bringing back the same olds.

Willoughby has been struggling with a lower leg problem while still playing and Malceski is in the same boat as Saddo and is a couple more reserves games away from being in consideration.

So it is Schmidt and Moore at present.

Bevan can consider himself very lucky, suspension to Maxfield probably saved him as they will need a bit of grunt on the ground at certain stages.

I am surprised that we have McVeigh, Scheinder & Buchanan in the same team but with Willo out they can afford to go with the three smalls.

As for Spriggs, give him a go. He has been far from our worst in the two games he has played so far and has the fitness to keep any of Schmidt, Moore & Malceski out of the side. With Fosdike injured as well should see him played and be given a chance to settle in the side for the next 4 to 5 weeks.

Nico, what are you on about?

Maybe for a number of factors Roos and the match committee think that they are just not readt for senior footy?

If you go through the 6 or so players that you feel should be in contention all have cases for not being ready yet:

Malceski - recovering from a total knee reco and should be given at least 6 games in the ressies to find his feet again. You only have to look at Gasper last year, he had 10 years of footy behind him and still took a year to get going

Willoughby - is playing under an injury cloud to his lower leg from a couple of weeks back in the two's in Canberra. No way you are going to play a first gamer who is under an injury cloud

Moore - looks good skill and poise wise but is nowhere fit enough to come into the side as on baller. Would be at least till the second half of the season before we see and then only as an impact forward off the bench

Sunquist - need I saw more, still injured

Schmidt - looks the most likely to debue at present but from all reports has not set the reserves comp alight yet

Matthew Davis - Has op and not pushing for selection at present

Outside of this, who should they be playing besides Scheinder, McVeigh, Bevan & Spriggs?

                        Sheer frustration DST.

We have an ageing list with middle aged players who appear to have plateaud.

We have to start playing fresh blood. If we only have 2 available, well bloody well give them a go.
