Wouldn't it be fantastic if it dragged on longer than this weekend so Jolly could play in Perth but miss the two games after!

It's a shame that it is well known how desperate the Swans are to have Jolly play ... The best argument going for us is Jolly having the same suspension as Fevola. Grover needed 3 stiches in his eye after the incident. How can that compare ?

Agreed - if Jolly still has a two-week ban for the incident, he would feel hard done by. I think a likely outcome would be a downgrading from Intentional to Reckless, resulting in 125 points and a 1-week suspension. A grading of intentional is so serious that IMO it is a charge that has to be proven. It's hardly reasonable to suppose that Jolly intended to put a Melbourne player out of action through illegal means, otherwise he would surely have done a much better job than hitting him with his shin. The shin is about the worst part of the body to hit someone with - it can hurt like hell!

It could be argued that kneeing is a deliberate action in many marking contests in order to gain an advantage over the man in front.
What Darren has done was very incidental in my opinion and 2 weeks is ludicrous.

Next time he should gouge the other players eyes out while he's at it.

It really baffles the mind, how they deem it to be worthy of a suspension.

That hurts for many reasons. Not least that it sets a ridiculous precedent. It was silly from Jolly but silly is not the same as a malcious gouging. I think they got this very wrong.

Jolly just lost his appeal - announced on the news. 2 week ban stands
And the man who started it, the Schneiderman, can kick his third for the quarter. And the swans are in the Grand Final!
