I heard Roos on radio last night, saying something along the lines of "I've spoke to Stuey about whether he'd continue with the captaincy (now that he's commuting from Melbourne) ... he's going to think about it overnight, if he said 'yeah, I really still want it' then obviously we'd have to go away and think about it".
It sounded like the decision had effectively been made - I was a bit disappointed that Roos was effectively announcing it before Maxie had agreed.
It occurred to me that this might actually make it harder to drop him later in the year. Not really the way you'd want a great servant of the club to go out - first resigning as captain and then getting dropped (or being convinced to retire).
Bottom line is that he should have been retired at the end of last season.Comment

MMM 104.9 have said press conference this arvo and believe he will step down.
Think he will retire at end of season - will probably try for 10?? more games to make the magic 300.
Probably the best decision to hard to be there for the team from Melbourne.
Glad he has gone to be with the kids it is a good sign for the family.Love those Swans
