28.About as many games as any newly appointed captain has captained. How is that relevant and who has ever used the excuse we lost because we have a new captain?

Was I the only one who read: "No decision has been made on the captaincy for the long-term." ?

Read a bit further up.I know Kirk has not been appointed long term captain and I have no ideas if he will be.My comments should be taken in context which were in response to Sanecow's comment about appointing a young and inexperienced captain and the following exchanges.

I DID read that then went back to the earlier reference "has been replaced by stand-in skipper Brett Kirk" which seems to imply that Kirk will only be "acting Captain", so certainly it means the captaincy will be reviewed for next year but does also imply the review could be earlier than that.
The official statement (with more precise wording) should reveal more I hope.

I would like to thank Stuey for having the courage to make what I believe was the right decision with such dignity. I have to confess I thought he might try to stick it out and that this would have a very negative impact on the team and the rest of the season.
Goodonya Stuey, I hope you enjoy the time with your family and that the rest of the season is a good one for you.

I second this. After reading the article in todays SMH I actually shed a tear.
The accompanying photo show's Stewie walking away from the press is what got me all emotional. pic and articel here
As the article states, it must be high on every players wish list to Captain his side, a to realise that you are no longer the best option must be hard to take.
I know it is not farewell yet, but when the time comes I made need a Kleenex or two (just no good at goodbyes). Would love to see a highlight package of "Maddog" so we can all remember him at his best. Hopefully it will include a bit of this year GF footage.(insert crossed fingers smiley here.)
