By gee Schaubs has been handy today - he is steady and reliable - and big too.

Goal to Goodes. Last three goals to us. I think the game's as good as over.

Amon Buchanon: 3.9 for the year.
          Give him number 8.

Interesting rules interpretations by the umpires ... I thought if you go to rush a behind and it goes out, it's meant to be paid as deliberate?

Good win to the boys - however another week of wasted opportunity in front of goal.

                BUT, a win nevertheless.

Micky O getting some touch back as well is a positive.

The kicking has not been great, but from watching the TV coverage there were a few kicks that wobbled around - it looked to me as if the wind was a bit swirly.

Leo is a true champ. Schaubs warming up again. Dempster, Vogels and Moore all doing enough. Thought they played well in the 2nd half but Port were dreadful.

Oh yes, they played a shocker. They're a shadow of last year's side. I don't think they will make the finals this year unless their form improves a lot.

They ran out of steam like the bombers last week.

Jolly makes a big difference to the team.

Hey, we've now defeated both last year's grand finalists!
...yet we haven't defeated any team in the current top 10. Weird year.

Strange alright. I thought they started to look good in the 2nd half but it is so hard to judge. Next week against the Dogs should be interesting. McVeigh did not impress today (sadly). Will be interesting to get a reserves report. One of the commentators reckoned that Schneider had a good game today...

I actually tried to post a new thread entitled "McVeigh. The LRT of the midfield?", but it seems to have been eaten. Probably for the best.

The real issue is; how badly will the Canberra league stifle our development, if McVeigh and LRT can dominate every week?

We're also just 4 points and percentage outside the top 4.
...and we'll likely start as favourites in 4 of the next 5 games.
...and Saddo and Schauble will only get better.
...and Williams, Ball and Schneider (for McVeigh, LRT and Bevan) would certainly improve the team.
                                ...so things are looking up.
...except that we still seem to be playing really badly.
