swans home games in melb

just thinking this morning

have the swans thought about relocating a swans home game to the mcg or telstra dome.it would be great for the loyal melbourne swans fans plus to give them another live chance to watch the swans play.

I hope not. It would be detrimental to the development of the game here in Sydney. I also believe that Eade is going to push the Dogs to take their 'home' Sydney game back to Melbourne, so that might give you Melbourne based supporters an extra Swans game.

we are doing well financially so there is no merit to it.

im pretty sure we request about 6 games in melbourne a year

firstly im sydney based

cruiser how can it be detrimental to the sport in sydney.fans have been given the oppourtunity to watch the swans play away games at the scg and the numbers have always been lower than if it was an acutal home game.

the north melbourne experiment was a flop and only the die hard of afl fans would turn up their games.i personally think sydney people have had more than enough chances to turn out and watch extra games of footy but have turned there back on it.

what about our melbourne supporter base arent they entitled to see the swans play.

yesterday was a prime example beautiful sunny day in the harbour city no rugby league or union matches in the inner city,and we only get 22,000.if the game was in melb they would of pulled that plus some.

and dont give me the sydney people have more things to do.the fact is this city is fickle they are so unpredictable when it comes to attending sporting fixtures.unless the swans are winning week in and out ,crowds at the scg will always be up and down,average.

No you are being pessimistic. I can see it now, First home game in 2015, at the MCG, Club Captain, 250 gamer, 4 times AA, 3 times Club Champion, Brownlow Medalist LRT unfurls the 4th flag in the last 6 years infront of 42,000 paid up Melbourne based members.

last year was one of our best years financially, im pretty sure we dug ourself out of lots of debt

If the AFL were to start taking home games away from Sydney it would be the beginning of the end for the Sydney Swans. You say that Sydney fans have turned their back on the Swans but maybe you've forgotten that the first three home games this year each drew around 30,000. What makes you think that crowds in Melbourne would be greater?

You are overreacting to what you think is a bad crowd of 22,000 for one game by suggesting that Sydney start moving back to Melbourne. I have posted elsewhere that traditionally Port, Freo and Dogs games usually draw smaller crowds in Sydney. Negative media about Sydney's supposedly "ugly game" also doesnt help attract people to come to the games.

Sorry Prenda, but I think that this is one of the dumbest and most illogical posts I've ever seen on RWO.
