I wasnt having a dig at Melbourne's winter weather. There is no doubting at all that it is colder and wetter in Melbourne in winter than Sydney and most Sydney born people (and many of us who have moved here to live) hate cold winter weather. I'm hoping that Hayes may feel that way.

I think you've hit the nail on the head, many players see Melbourne as the football mecca. I don't think weather is a big factor unless you compare say Qld, with Melbourne. I've spent some time up in Sydney during the winter and often there is not a huge difference between the two but when we're talking Brisbane, Noosa, or Surfer's Paradise, there is.Comment

We just have to convince him not to sign until the end of the year. Then when the Saints miss out on the 8, and we have a solid finals campaign, he may just reconsiderOur Greatest Moment:

It's superb late Autumn football weather. Cold and crisp. It's the way football is meant to be.Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.
