Barry always plays from behind - that's his MO.

I'd note he had 15 possessions and 7 marks too (LRT 8 and 3).

Not to say he played well or anything - just correcting some errors.

Should have had Schauble in the team on Gehrig!!

Don't know why Saddington came in as the emergency, he offered absolutely nothing.

Understatement of the century! And some people would rather him at CHB!? Amazingly enough: LRT > Saddo

Hall had a go at him about one, which was fair enough as Hall is the big key forward and always lets people know if delivery is not perfect. ROK also had a go at him about kicking too high in a contest, I thought that was a bit out of line/too big for his boots.
Too light/bumped off the ball too easily is probably fair, but he has put on weight each year at the club so far and I expect will continue to do so. Certainly should not be dropped from the team at the moment for it considering other candidates for a trip to Canberra.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

I was really embarrased last night.I went to the game and watched it from a corporate box as my Dad had some clients to entertain. It was so embarassing. One of the guys even said that young players coming through the draft in Victoria had one big fear...to be picked up by Sydney. What does that tell us.
Personally I feel we have talent but Roosy has to perservere with the players who consistantly show it and look elsewhere for others. Also general comments were that the game was more like rugby.
Personally,I think we had a bad night.
Go Swannies..it was only one game.

Last night's game should be a wake up call. If the coaching staff have been choosing to ignore our deficencies then there is no excuse now.

Bevan is not at AFL football - rarely takes the right option and if he does never executes.

Schneider and Buchanen are both useless. Buchanen can't be in the side if he's not kicking goals - now he doesn't even back himself to have a shot.

LRT - I agree with most of RWO... he must go.

Nicks - over the hill and offers notning for the future.

Our midfield is full of tryers who will never demolish an opposition. Kirk and Jude Bolton are in our top 5 but desperately need support. Williams will be a welcome return but is nearing the end of his career.

I thought McVeigh offered glimmers of home but for some reason his development seems very slow.

A bit harsh to criticise Vogels as he was only playing his 4th game.

If I was Barry Hall I'd be very dirty at the service I am getting. The lowest inside 50s for a match ever recorded, how the hell will we ever kick a winning score playing that crap.

Our midfield never looked composed last night - too many fumbles, handpasses missing the mark, St Kilda running away far too easily.

Time to make tough decisions Roosy. And if you won't drop some players maybe its you who should go.

Err. Hello, this is a forum, a place for opinions and discussions, i was merely pointing out mine.
And with Bucky i am just being realistic. He is showing some really bad signs for a forward pocket type, missing sitters, no confidence with set shots etc. which is why i am questioning his worth in the team and at this level.

I watched the game from behind the goals up on level 3 at the Dome and it was a very different perspective to the one I normally view. It also means I was too far away to see much of what went on in the packs.

My impressions were that Goodes, Crouch, Bolton and Kirk had reasonable games. The two key forwards probably did OK give that the ball wasn't coming down there. Everyone else was bad, bad, bad.

The most noticeable thing was how static the team was - absolutely no running off the ball.

And some of the skill errors that led to turnovers were cringeworthy.

It wasnt just Melbourne supporters. There were a few of us who made the effort to come down from Sydney. I'm bloody furious. Its a long bloody trip for me from the Central Coast to Melbourne to go watch a useless rabble serve up some of the most woeful, inept, rubbish I have ever seen played in an AFL game. They should be utterly ashamed of themselves.

Longmire and Alison (what's Alison's role?) were on my 6am flight back to Sydney this morning right in front of me as we were boarding. I was polite in telling Longmire what I thought of the game - afterwards I wish I'd said more (hey, it was 5.45am). Such as, "John, dont you think you need to teach our forwards how to lead so that our midfielders can see some targets to kick to inside 50?"

I'm not saying he was good or what he did with the ball was good - seen it before. Just pointing out that he did actually get the ball and take marks. Disposal and decision making are another thing entirely - so true with nearly all our team (and nearly all our seasons!).

NMW if you are game enough to have a look at the replay you may find a lot of Leo's stats came from back kicks and circle work disposals.

No Swans supporter should ever have to watch the replay. However, the entire team and coaching staff should be made to watch it repeatedly and at the end of each, write an essay explaining how they can improve their game.
