      LOL.

      The PANIC sets in!

My suggestion is that we wait AT LEAST until we have played every club once. Then we reconsider once the finals are complete.

If my mind serves me right, we had written Nicks off completely mid way through last year, but his finish to the year had us all putting massive faith in him again. Similar story with Jude, who was prime trade bait this time last year, Kirk was a dud, and Davis has always been in and out of favour with the winds.

That said, there will most likely be two to three retirements this year, and two or three delistings. We will most likely try to trade a player or two for one gun player if possible. Although with the raft of out-of-contract players currently running around, we may well pick up a few more. That leaves us to promote the remaining three plus from the Rookie list.

I believe this would leave us with a change of around eight (four out, four in) and a lot of new players from the Rookie list.

Trade Mick! Now I've read it all.

Aside from the fact that his market value doesn't begin to approach his value to the team... who is the one player that is providing a useful option to kick to within scoring distance at the moment?

O'Loughlin straightens up the side at least a little bit - not nearly enough, but he is a part of the solution, not the problem. He is a required player.

Geez, that is almost 1/3 of the list.

Youngsters audition for the rest of the year:
Sundquist, Powell (if he is fit), Macelski, Schmidt, Willougby and Fixter.

Each with a minimum of three games which means about 2 of them playing every weeks between now and the end of the year.
Too many. We can't cover that many players. It isn't almost one third - it's more than one third.

Nicks is on the vet's list, so wouldn't need to be replaced, and Vogels is one of the 13. Where do the other 12 come from?

I don't think he straightens us up much at all. Most of his leads seem to be to the pockets.

Still, I agree it is too late to trade him. If it was to be done it should have been done 3 years ago not now.

Keeping him doesn't really seemed to have placed us in a significantly better than position than if we had a couple of young guns in his place now.
NMW I agree with most of what you say, but on this one mate the moderators on here should consider delisting you, or at the very least give you a week away from the site to regain some sanity.

What about the other 2 useless articles - Bevan and Schneider.

Perhaps we could get a quid from an ARL side for Bevan.

LOL - I think MOL is a fantastic player and one of my favourites. However, sometimes you need to make tough calls. As we stand now, he's great but his time is limited and the biggest problem we have is getting the ball into the forward line. If we could have swapped him 3 years ago for a couple of good midfielders then we'd possibly be sitting a little better now than what we are.

                    How about trading Goodes????

I am playing with this idea for some times now. How Goodes is best used? Either as a ruckman or by a trade is my only possible answer. If we believe that our ruck without Goodes is decent, trading him might be the best option for him and for the club.

It's an interesting point. Where do you play him if you have a good ruck division.

Correct. He should be bronzed, not mentioned as trade bait!

Goodes for Judd. Could be win-win.

                            ^ I'd take that.

But why all the talk of retiring Ball? He hasn't been awful this year at all. His first game keeping Everitt from kicking a goal(IIRC) was very good.

I think its more the issue that most expect Ball to call it quits at the end of the season. He has had a number of injuries and has a lucrative job outside of football. Add that to the speculation he would retire at the end of last year, and hence the expectation it will happen at the end of this year.

If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.
