Better that than a perpetual celebration of medoicrity. Or is that on your corporate mission statement?

yeah. better to play them in perth in a non-elimination final, then otherwise.

A flag is meaningless after a few weeks. Thats y the Swans haven't bother for 71 years!!!

I can see barry's point tho' it is better to travel to Perth and lose wk 1 of the finals, than lose there in week 3.

Id go as far to send a 2nd string team over there for the 1st week.
Rest O'Loughlan, Ball, Williams, and anyone not 100% fit.

That would be most of the team by then.

Interesting, but no way Roos does this after Port Adelaide 2003.

Anyway I think we can beat West Coast, we are good against teams that 'rely' on their midfield.

Huh. Why not send your best side, try to beat them and have a week off. Isn't the great Prelim final win 2003 the most memorable moment since the '96 gf.

(Like we're going to come 4th anyway)

That would make too much sense.

As well as a home preliminary final. 2003 indeed. And yes, definately one of my best ever football experiences. The stunned looks of dismay on the faces of those feral Port supporters is a cherished memory that always brings a smile to my face.

Because Port were already known to be mentally weak, so we had some chance there if we kept it tight (Was that the start of our boring style I wonder).

Against WC we have maybe a 5% chance of winning in Perth. Far better to rest key players, and get some finals experience into the likes of Vogels, LRT, Moore, Maleski, Dempster etc.

Better to play and win at MCG in week 1, have a week off and then a home final for prelims!!

As long as none of the teams we have to play in the finals are in the top 8 we should @@@@ it in.

We had 11 goals to HT - not really that boring... We didn't really lock it up until the last qtr.
