I look forward to him improving his accuracy. 65 metres is even better if his quick ends up in a team-mates hounds.

              lrt

really confused as to why we keep persevering with LRT when he seems to give us so litttle. sure he is a "project player" but he gives away frees, his disposal is dreadful and surely and old dude like schaubs would be much more efficient. several of geelong's goals came directly errors from him.

we have some great players out of the side - malceski, schneider, schaubs, and i could go on...why does roosy keep persevering with him? any ideas?

Yes, we are all just as confused and frustrated with LRT, so join the club!

Don't get me wrong, I hope he develops into a good player, but he really has to start repaying Roos' faith in him soon. I guess that the coaching staff must think that the only way he's going to learn is by getting lots of game time in the seniors. Really, he's facing a learning curve just as great as Kennelly in trying to adapt to a different footy code.

Anyway, I vote that we create TWO LRT threads, one for the positives and one for the negatives (just like the Round 15 discussions) and sticky them. At least then maybe the LRT debates won't spill over into other threads like this one!

Although I must admit, separating the positives and negatives would take all the fun out of arguing about LRT !

                        Some predictions...

Ben Fixter will not be delisted at the end of the year, but will instead be given another go and remind us that he's actually a very good short defender with sure ball handling and reliable disposable (actually, a much better player than Bevan).

As for Dempster, he reminds me a lot of Neil Cordy as a player. Same style, not overly quick or agile, but good punch, reads the play well and solid kick. In other words, gets the second best defender each week and does a job. I am very confident this guy will have a long future with the swans.

Mc Veigh is a lost cause. I'd be staggered if he is on the list in two years time. My money is on him being traded to Essendon to play with his mediocre brother. It is now obvious that he is not going to develop the physical characteristics to be an AFL player. Pity the AFL has banned DNA testing.

From what little I have seen, I think Moore and Malsceski both have healthy futures. I have this sinking feeling that Vogels is a one hit wonder.

As for LRT, a future with the Wallabies beckons....actually, I think the guy will go okay, and hope he does, for RWO would be less interesting without him.
He had observed that people who did lie were, on the whole, more resourceful and ambitious and successful than people who did not lie.

Love to have the Fixter prediction come true - it would at last free Crouch to a permanent midfield role - but with 3 injury ruined years, you would think he has run out of chances?

And McVeigh - far too early to call him a lost cause Nostradamus!

But I spent all night reading tea leaves and watching the movement of the heavens.

I'll bet you $5 he amounts to nothing.

IMO it is very obvious that reserves football the Swannies 2nds are playing in is non comparable to the seniors.Other clubs have a distinct advantage here as they play VFL,SAFL,WAFL and QAFL which have players from their AFL teams and,of course, their standard is far, far, far better than the Canberra league.
I heard Leigh Matthews say that he always gives a new player a couple of games to settle in before he makes a decision on him.Hasn't that paid off for Brisbane this year.
Roosy believes in horses for courses.

                                heath james

changing the subject yet again, can any of you sages tell me what's happening with Heath James? I see he kicked six in the twos a few weeks ago and yet his name never comes up for selection. Personally i always thought he looked a bit out of his depth and would think that he is on borrowed time and heading for de-listing. as i'm new to RWO i'd be curious as to whether there's any inside goss.

by the way, i love this site. i've only just discovered it through my sister in law, who is also a mad swan fan. i'm originally from SA and grew up on Aussie rules but left before the Crows started to live in Sydney. The Swans are now my team in a big way.
