Injury List after round 15

Looks like Matty Nicks could most definately be gone at the end of the year now. A very untimely injury for him.

Doyle excepted, we must have one of the least impact injury lists going around

Would agree the injury is untimely, but IMHO there are a couple of players to go before him in Fixter (just can't get on the field) & James (has been given the chance once recovered).

Nicks is a very handy top up player in that he can play forward or back and has plenty of footy smarts and experience when called upon.

In the pre-match interview with Stuey on Sat nite, he suggested that he was 3-4 weeks away. But he did sound indefinite so I guess the injury list might be rite.

We've pretty much got all our best players fit at the moment, which we need with the tough games coming up. We've probably had one of our best years in a while as far as injuries go. Those who have been injured have been easy to replace.

Don't you think that's a function of having our deepest squad for a long time? Seeing the best players list in the Ressies was very encouraging no matter who the opposition.

Brissie & Port have shown depth is a critical element in a premiership team. Having World's Worst CHB is only counter-argument to the new depth perspective I think.

Agree that we've had a very good run with injury, and any team needs to be able to cover the loss of a couple of good players without register a blip.

But we did miss Willo for a while, and this was exacerbated by losing Davis for part of the same period (in that he had been providing a bit of midfield class while Willo was out).

And being without Ball and Jolly for a couple of weeks didn't help but nor did it really affect our win/loss ratio. We'd have lost to WC even with both of them in and managed to beat the Bombers without them.

I think it is fact that we beat the Bombers. You can argue it if you feel like it.

Yes, it was my opinion that we'd have lost to WC even with a ruckman. Does one have to write 'IMO' after every comment here or can we take it for read?

If the paper, there was an article abt the number of games missed by players, we were last on that list. And third last (I think), when it comes to top 22 players.

So that shows how good/lucky we've been with injuries.

PS: I wonder if the still count Maxfield in the top 22??

Yeah I saw that list - but isn't it wildly subjective as to who our 'best 22' are?

At the beginning of the year it would have been reasonable to put Maxfield, Doyle, Fosdike, Saddington, Ball, Williams & Schauble in our best 22. If you factor in their games missed it puts us closer to mid table - but I guess every team could do this...

What is good is that Buchanan, Ablett, and to a lesser extent LRT and Dempster have been able to get/earn extended runs in our starting 22.
