Wonder if Maxfield is playing? (Oops, no disrespect intended, just a humourous aside before I go and make a contribution to the club I love.)

Won't you still be having your pre-match hors d'oeuvres at that stage?

These pre-match games are stupid. Nobody is in the ground to see them. And we are given as little as 90 seconds to try and get the banner up as a result. We had to wait at the Geelong match so that celebrities could finish so completely naff game of golf out on the field.

Maybe play the match at half-time instead? At least people will be in the ground to watch their former heros.

No time for poleing it gently under those circumstances. I am sure that former players would boycott such events if they knew the trouble it caused.

Actualy, the more I think about it, the more I think JF is right. Kids come to see their heroes, not the fat has beens reliving their glory days.

Only if he's got a ten foot pole in one hand and a pom pom in the other.

Maybe we could have a 'gentle poling' display by the CS as prematch entertainment ?

I know i would be willing to miss my prematch tofu to see that !

And i am sure the players would not mind delaying the start of the match if the scrum for autographs took too long !
