      He wasn't bad, I guess.

Actually, I thought it was Leo out there with a bad wig on. He did alright.

A good mark and handball, in the 1st qtr which resulted in a goal.

      Some great quick handballs.

Some really good defensive work. A Crunching Tackle.

      A huge thump, from behind.

And as Bloods pointed out earlier, the misjudged ball that was marked and goaled, in the last qtr.

One good game doesn't make a player of him, but if he plays the rest of the season at, or above that level, I'll eat my own @@@@, nah that has been said b4 and backfired. But I hope he does.

It's official - from Paul Williams in a post-match interview - "LRT did a great job on Staker". A couple of good marks, in fact one a very good mark, and one or two crushing tackles. The young bloke's doing fine.
And as for the mark he missed, once the WC player got front position it was going to be just about impossible to prevent the mark.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

            Great game LRT!

Very impressed with his efforts and attack at the footy.

He is fast becoming one of my favorites.

There's still a long way to go, but he didn't have as much of that 'what am I doing here?' look, like he was lost, today, which can only be a good sign.

Edit: I'm not sure how I can describe his 'lost' look any better, but I hope people here know what I mean.

His handballing is pretty good now, and even his kicking isn't that bad - there was one play in the third quarter where he took on his opponent and just thumped it long to find Barry Hall.

No, as Liz pointed out during the week, he is much better when he has NO time to think, just do.

I dont think there's egg on anyones face barry. LRT was crap up until last week, when he played a good game against the Dees. He improved a little more on that peformance today. I'll give credit where its due and LRT deserves credit again today. You wont hear me calling for him to be dropped for as long as he plays that well.

                        Best: J Bolton T Kennelly L Roberts-Thomson A Schneider B Mathews J Crouch.

                        The Age - the same.

Best: Buchanan, Kirk, J. Bolton, Schneider, Crouch, Barry, O'Loughlin, Goodes

I fail to see how you could include Goodes or Mathews or Barry in the best list.

                        My best would be:
J Bolton C Bolton Crouch Kirk Buchanan Williams Schneider

                        Possibly LRT and O'Loughlin.

Kennelly was good in spots, but I wouldn't include him the best list.

Well, in the Age's player of the year last round they gave votes to Jeff White and none to Brett Kirk. I wonder if they actually watch the games.

Loved the moment today when we were running out of defence, LRT receives the handball and you get that feeling that something bad is gonna happen. There's a man chasing him down - OMG he's going to get caught in our defensive 50 - then BAM, he belts it down the ground, and a Swans player takes a mark. The crowd goes nuts! Impressive!
