The Swans Player was B Hall, IIRC.

That seemed to be a case of very good recognition by Hall. Saw that LRT was bursting out of defence and nowhere to go, so Hall ran forward into space and was able to mark from the hasty kick forward.

That wasnt LRT that hit BBBH on the tits from 50m away on the run out of defence was it?!!
He was great today, really rated his game. He has come a long way in the last fortnight in his development. He seemed useless a month ago, and I for one called for his head repeatedly. He has had a good fortnight, but I wont change my opinion of him on that. He has to play some consistent decent footy. A month of good footy and he'll have my respect. Improving though.

Hate to rain on the LRT parade & he definitely had another solid game today. But I've wondered when the opposition would start taking advantage of his presence & perhaps it started today. I think most people considered Lynch a good match up for LRT but when Lynch lined up in the goal square Sydney had to use Leo on him. That really was an unfortunate macth up for Sydney & one brought about coz we can't really trust LRT to outmark his opponent in a danger position like FF.

Maybe I'm being too harsh but let's hope this isn't a sign of things to come.

I was pretty proud of LRT's efforts today. Was only really outplayed in one contest and laid some good tackles. The gamble may yet be worth it!

I'm not sure if this has been discussed in other threads, but does anyone know the extent of Leo Barry's injury? If he's out next week LRT could well have a lot more responsibility.

I've commented a few times that I thought he played well, and I have noted his good efforts in previous weeks

However, that run out of the backline didn't look he he broke clear and deliberately spotted up Hall and hit him on the chest. Rather it looked like he was bursting through and threw the ball on the boot. Maybe he saw Hall and kicked it to him or maybe he just blindly kicked it forward, we don't know. Nevertheless, LRT did not seem to have anywhere to go on the run and Hall ran forward into space. It's not a criticism of LRT - simply observing what seemed to be the chain of events.

It definitely didn't look the way you described it from where I was. Hall started leading prior to the kick and LRT then hit him on the chest. It was a great kick and he has done it before ... once. I was yelling at him to just kick it but credit where it's due, I was thinking "great kick" after it had travelled about 20 metres because it was obvious where it was heading.

Lynch always plays out of the goal square - that wasn't a move designed for us.

Also, I'm sure that Roos would have always planned for Barry to line up on him. Ultimately LRT would have played on Hansen because he is their CHF. Without him, LRT just played where needed but Lynch wouldn't have been an option IMHO.

One of LRT's strengths is his running which would be severely underused if we play him too close to the goal. Half Back line is probably his ideal place, similarly to Tadgh really. It would not surprise me if the opposition would try to take him to the goal square and isolate him there. That would be his next challenge, I would imagine.

We might not want to have excessive expectation on him for the moment as well. I expect his performance would remain up-and-down for a while so I would not be so upset if he does not maintain a similar level of performance against the Crows. We should all remember that he is still very young and it takes a young player more than few games to mature.
