I appreciate the need for good player management so we run a ruck combo, but should the split not be weighted more heavily to Jolly than to Ball?
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

That's what I see nearly every player do when they kick a goal in those circumstances.

I think Ball is more effective around the ground than Jolly. He had a pretty good night on Saturday. Still, I think there are times when we could have both on the ground, with Jolly resting in the goal square.

I know I'll get smashed on this site for this Barry is a good FWD who would start in every team

but he is a front runner,

when the Swans play well and are winning Barry gets a few goals BUT when the Swans are behind and need someone to stand up B. Hall ain your man.

Swans were pretty good but the Swans do struggle on the big occasion on big grounds, just look at our record at the MCG Subiaco and AAMI (v Crows) Freo, West C, St Kilda.
I agree with a lot of that, but I wouldn't call Hall a front runner. He has stood up and dragged us across the line at various times. However, he does crack the sads and lose focus at other times, as he did on Saturday, I find that immensely frustrating.

You have constantly criticised our players and have said that we need to rebuild. Now, Roos has got those players, which you think are crap, to come 3rd, 5th and maybe top 4 again.

What you have said makes no sense. Based on your other comments, you should think Roos is a genius.

This is classic FH BS - whatever u want to say abt Sat nite's performance you couldnt fault the endeavour of the players. There are some players that can give us more but we're not in the top four by reason of a few stars, rather by a very good honest team performance over the last 12 weeks.

Most other teams would be delighted to have the number of passengers we have in our team.

Funny how we only seem to hear from Footyhead after the Swans lose a game. Don't remember hearing too much from him over the last month after beating three top 4 sides consecutively.

I'm finding it hard to be too negative. We had multiple chances to win the game and we let it slip away in front of goal.

Suggest that you revisit the video for last year's game against Carlton at PP. The ink was still drying for a loss when Bazza pulled it out of the fire. On this occasion though (v Adelaide) I agree he could have done a lot more. Disappointing.

                      Negatives -

Six goals in a game is not good enough. Acceptable if it is snowing, or played in a heavy fog, but the weather conditions looked reasonably good from where I was sitting.

Commentary. I really can't abide that Matthew Campbell idiot. His annoyingly relentless, exaggerated, strident enthusiasm, his impartiality (you would have been excused for thinking Adelaide were up by 15 goals so brilliantly they were playing), and his sense of humour is about as funny as a car accident. I still have a sore throat from screaming "Shut the *uck up" at the television.
Could RWO please initiate a petition to bar this bozo from calling any future Swans games?

It was said here and in alot of the media that the four games we have jujst played would be a true indication of how we were looking this year in our push to the finals. We won 3 and lost 1 and I have to say that I do not think our loss against the Crows was a shocker. Lots of potential this year.

I have been watching Baz for a while now, is it just me or is he a shocker at taking contested/pack marks. He never seems to make huge leaps over packs and often will fumble or drop the ball when under any kind of pressure. Sure, he does pull in some screamers with brute strength (the one hander against Melbourne comes to mind) but on the whole seems to be more of chest marker than anything else. Just curious to know what you guys think.

Went to the game with a bunch of Crows mates and they were very worried regarding the weather on the trip down.

Footy Park has one of the best grass coverages in the league, problem is if you have a very still cool night like they got then the ball becomes a peice of soap due to the amount of dew on the longish grass.

They seem to think (and they attend all the games at Footy Park) that a bit of wind would have made it much more easier to play on.

As far as I could tell both teams had the same amount of trouble with the conditions.

He seems to have occassional off days when he cant mark anything in a contest. He gets frustrated by it and seems to stop really trying and instead carrys on looking for free kicks every contest. Thankfully his good games seem to outnumber his bad and when he's on song he's can be great at taking contested marks. His marking on the lead is better.

I think we may be being a little hard on Barry. It seemed as though he was going for every mark with one arm on Saturday because the other one was being held. It's the same every week and I think that he does well to put up with it. It would be good if he didn't focus on it so much but it's human nature - it would annoy the crap out of me too!

Definitely. His hand co-ordination over his head is not great. Even when he takes the mark if you watch his hands they are often not safely around the ball, but rather hanging on through sheer strength.

IMO this is the weakest aspect of his game and hence why we need to work on passing low to him on the lead or allowing him to stand and outbody his opponent.
