Go and watch the replay and count them but also count all the times he put his body on the line with blocks tackling, the pressure he applied to Adelaide players, how many goals did he miss, he had to get the ball each time, hopefully this will assist you in adding them all up.

Dude, as if I am going to seriously do that. He missed 3 goals.

Davis has 16 possessions, kicked a goal and his disposal was pretty clean.

I thought he played well, any lack of further involvement in the game was probably due to standing around the goal square. From memory he finished with 12 effective kicks from his 13 kicks, I wish we had more players approaching those sort of figures. Even with his 1 kick that was not effective he had the right idea; he kicked long from deep inside the D50 (yes guys, you are allowed to do that) to a Dempster lead (yes guys, you are allowed to kick to the kids too!)- it went to a Crow, but even then it was a picked off pass and not straight down the throat of the opposition.

If we had kicked straight in the last Q against Richmond and Adelaide we would be sitting second easily.

We had both games there to be taken with all the momentum. Skills let us down again. These games haunt me.

The problem with the Richmond game was the inactivity for 3/4 even though the Crouch miss was a shocker.

Although his 4th Q miss should also have been money for jam.

Only because it was Davis, which gets back to the value of his disposals over the value of others.

Just on that, you have a point as last night on the couch, Mike Sheahan only individualised on Davis's miss and described it as bread and butter and was from 30 out. No doubt he should have kicked it because he's done it often before, but from memory his back foot was touching the 50 metre arc so if wasn't from 30. And I also thought it was strange he didn't comment on the sitters. But he was praiseworthy overall of the performance. It does show though that we and the media have higher expectations of some than others. I still think the ROK misses, the Hall one and the Buchanan poster were the worst. I made some excuses for Kennelly but I think they were valid.

Perhaps we expect more from his disposals because he uses the ball well but also perhaps because we have come to expect less when it comes to his tackle count?

Not many of our players would be a cert kicking from 40-50m out. You'd only expect that for Davis (I expected he would kick it).
