    What on earth

is going on in Melbourne this weekend? Not a hotel bed to be found in any semi-central suburb on Saturday night in any price bracket. Can't believe its all Swans fans who have booked the city out!

Dunno Liz. Our friend is having a surprise 40th. I didn't know she was that popular.

Lions fans will have the same problem in Sydney the following weekend. I tried to book for a Brisbane friend yesterday and learned that it's both a Bledislow and City to Surf weekend.

Closest I have found to the CBD is West Melbourne, going to be alot of Red and White @ Docklands on Saturday Night

There's the Aussie Rules International Cup going on in Melbourne at the moment with visiting teams from all over the World. This could be one of the problems for finding a vacancy in hotels around the City.

Wouldn't have thought that would make a serious impact on hotel availabilty

I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline

It would in the "semi-central suburb". I doubt the teams here for the Cup are staying at Crown.
