CS tickets should be available now - did you get your name on the list earlier in the week?

There are rooms available a bit further out (like East Malvern, Fawkner, etc) - just make sure it's near a station.

The Airport hotels are also available

Yep, got the tkt sorted out finally, so problem 1 out the way
(Thanks to Rebecca @ the Melb Office)

As for accom, if I am going to need it looks like East Malvern etc, unless I go for the backpackers accom.

Slowly all coming together (crosses fingers and everything else)

Don't discount the YHA Hostel in Queensberry St North Melbourne. They often have single or double rooms available.

The City Edge Motel is Hoddle St Abbotsford is decent enough.

Is $85 a night too much for you?

I can do a ring around to see if any of the Melbourne-based CS members have spare beds. They generally love to help out on that score. Will see what I can do.

You can save money on accommodation by staying out all night then catch the 6am flight back to Sydney.

The two night minimum might be a problem for some.

Depends on the minimum stay period somewhat!

The payment demanded before you can leave can be rather onerous as well.

Hope its OK, because I've just booked myself in there. It's not an option that appears on any of the last minute deal websites that I've been trawling through.

If you haven't already found accomodation I would suggest the following website's to look for last minute accomodation -

                                wotif.com.au
                                lastminute.com.au

The above website's always have reduced price rooms for various star rating hotels/motels/B & B/apartments etc etc anywhere in Australia for the next two weeks as they work on the principle of clients cancelling there pre-booked rooms a couple of days in advance.
