    Round 19 Negatives

Apart from Nick Davis, there's nothing too negative from last night's game IMO. Umpiring was awful (again ), but there's nothing you can do about that unless you have a big wallet. Ben Mathews is probably the other negative, continuing on from last week's shocker.

    FF - 16, FA - 24.
I've touched on this in another thread.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

One negative for me was conceding goals very late in each of the first 3 quarters, although I'm willing to excuse the one by Lucas on 3 qtr time due to crap umpiring. This is something that is hopefully just a one-off, but looking up at the clock and seeing 28 mins and then easing up expecting the siren any second could be very dangerous in big games.

      I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

        Matthews - missing.......
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................

          Skill level (disposal) still mixed.

          Barry struggling with big forwards.
Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

Kirk's kicking. I know its usually ordinary but he had some real shockers last night.

And then there was his two stuffed marks.

The first was in defence where he obviously heard footsteps and dropped a sitter! Very un-Kirk-like. Resulted in a goal against us.

The second was an impossible speccy attempt when he had Bazza standing right under it in the clear. Very selfish play from a player who is not renowned for it, and it cost us an easy goal from in front.

And he was Captain for the night. Lets hope he learns from it. I love him as a player but he must have been sick with the flu or something, because his decision-making was way off.

              Nick Davis

And that habit of hand balling to a team mate who is stationary and being marked. Too Handball orientated at times.

Agree disposal could have been a lot better at times.

Barry Halls over head marking. Jury is still out and taking its time. On weaker opponants will win out but on the elite fullbacks is held scoreless.

Seemed to slip out of his hand.

Davis' just seems a bit out of sorts as if with a slight adjustment he'll be firing. Still does some nice things, which often aren't noticed, but he's just missing marks and his shots at goal are just marginally off.

The best part was the instant reaction on Davis' face. Monumental stuff up! A later handball of his wasn't much better, although I think it went to ground in the direction of an opponent rather than straight onto their chest (baby steps).

You can see Bazza waiting, waiting, waiting for it to drop, then this crazy upside down man gets in his way.

Yes Kirk is great when he plays within his limitations. That dropped mark didn't look good, you don't expect someone like him to 'hear' footsteps.

Not so much a game negative, but a negative just the same...

Only a couple of people including Bloods who funnily enough was the person copping all the crap for supposedly being disrespectful when Wally Jackson died last year - actually bothering to remember the anniversary of his death.
Sit down or i swear to God i'll have you shot.

This may just be a positive, but I reckon Nick Davis is close to exploding into a run of good form.

He looks fit and interest but things are just not falling into place.

Would be a massive bonus come finals time if Nick coule bob up with 3 or 4 a game from the prockett or half forward.
